Why is the unitary executive theory so controversial?
The unitary executive theory through the constitution gives the President the power to implement the law. This means that the president has increased power to make any decision concerning the law (Calbresi, 1992). It is, however, controversial to administer one person with so much power. This might lead to the person given the power to turn into a dictator regarding law enforcement. Given that the citizens need transparency in a government, the president might hold crucial meetings the citizens might never come to know. This unitary executive theory can be seen under the presidency of Trump ( Krotoszynski, 2013) . The last thing the Americans want is to see the United States of America turn into an empire.
Response to Two Posts
The first post points out the reasons why the Unitary executive theory is seen as controversial. The fact that nothing can limit the president from making any decision concerning any law is a point addressed in this post. However much the constitution plays a major role in determining what the president can or cannot do, it is important to note that giving presidents such high amount of power could lead them to misuse the powers to benefit them and intern oppress the citizens. This theory has been active ever since and is particularly very active in the Trump era. The idea of giving too much power to one branch and person can be ambitious and possibly turn them into emperors is a major concern to the American citizens ( Holmes, 2009) .

However much the citizens are showing concern, I believe that this is a theory every individual would use given the opportunity. It should not be seen as a theory that an individual look to take advantage of rather as a theory that can be used when there is a crisis that is a concern to the country.
The second post also points out giving a particular person too much power would lead them to be tempted to misuse them hence nothing good can come out of such a person. The post points out that the use of this theory is being used under Trump presidency. As much as the citizens need powerful leaders, they are also afraid of the same powerful leaders.
