The song “Strawberry Fields Forever” by Beatles (Released Feb. 13, 1967 — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strawberry_Fields_Forever ) uses a combination of synthesizers to produce noble musical sound that exactly meets the standards of ideal rock music. Beatles, which is a famous American team of rock music artists, used tape loops which work in the similar manner as acoustic musical instruments. Different types of synthesizers were used differently in the song for different purposes. For instance, the Strawberry Fields Forever featured the flute sound in its introductory part, especially meant to produce sound effects. However, strings, flutes and brass were also used to sophisticate the music in the entire song.

Musical synthesizers play different roles in both composition and performance of music. Most importantly, they are meant to improve the quality of music by improving on its components such as music timbre, tone and pitch. While some electronic musical instruments may imitate acoustic musical instruments such as piano or Hammond Organ to produce natural musical sounds, others are primarily meant to produce novel electronic qualities of music. The quality of music is enhanced through various input devices such as instrument controllers, wind controllers and fingerboards among other devices. Therefore, musical synthesizers serve the purpose of imitating acoustic instruments as well as performing other functions that cannot be performed by acoustic instruments.

The main reason why musical synthesizers are said to imitate acoustic instruments is that they are meant to serve the primary function of acoustic instruments. However, for the purposes of producing electronic music which cannot be produced by acoustic instruments, music synthesizers completely substitute acoustic instruments when being used. This is because acoustic instruments cannot combine the use of several inputs to enhance the quality of music. Therefore, they serve both functions.
