Working in the military, one gets to understand the dynamics of the different positions of the men in uniforms. Each plays the role appointed to him or her to ensure their people and country are safe and protected. A non-profit making organization, the sole purpose of the military is to make America a safe nation even in the event of a calamity. CEO’s receive relatively high amounts of compensation, which is no exception for CEO’s working in the military. Therefore, the compensation packages received by CEO’s in the military can be deemed as fitting for the amount of input they give. A CEO’s job in the military, just as any other has its highs and lows, only in the military the CEO is also a soldier. CEO’s in the military who are also soldiers go beyond their job description because in the face of disaster they are all called upon to ensure the safety of the country and its people. Therefore, the compensation package they receive is worth the effort they input, directly or indirectly into ensuring the safety of the American citizenry.

In the military, a CEO is responsible for the creation, planning, implementation as well as integration of the organization’s strategic direction. This requires time, precision and a lot of intellect to accomplish, which means that a CEO works round the clock to ensure all departments in organization operate effectively. The responsibilities of a CEO are what merit the very compensation package they receive. However, one may also wonder if CEO ever gets to experience the full military experience such as going to war in countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Should the fact that they do not experience the intensity of the wars and its implications count as a reason why they should not receive such high amounts of compensation? I still think they do deserve the compensation packages they receive because their contribution is great. The CEO’s also friends and comrades when American soldiers fall in battle, which is also a way of experiencing war.
