What HR Managers Should Ensure?

In my view, human resource managers (HRM) ensure the company has a productive and thriving workforce. HR managers oversee the most critical asset in an organization, human capital. Some of the specific roles of HR managers include developing job design and conducting job analysis, recruiting, hiring and selecting qualified professionals, training and development, developing compensation and benefits packages, and performance management. The role of HR managers spans the whole employee experience, from recruiting and hiring expert employees to create a positive organizational culture that enhances employee experience while in the firm. This increases the rates of employee retention while reducing turnover rates, which in turn improves the productivity of the organization. 

HR managers ensure that the rights of the workers are upheld while working in the organization. This reduces incidences of litigation that affect the financial resources through court fines. Human resource managers should consider everyone while hiring, regardless of their disability status. The current economic growth requires creating programs and processes that facilitate better distribution of income among the rich and the poor (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2021). The main role of HR managers is to enhance the well-being of human capital in organizations. Usually, poverty results from violating the dignity of human work, usually due to limited work opportunities and putting a high value on work and low value on human rights. HR managers should strive to create organizations that increase the contribution of all the societal members through fair compensation and benefits packages and decent working conditions.

According to the scriptures, man is obligated to work for individual, familial and national purposes. Every person is required to work to enhance their own well-being and the growth of society. As such, HR managers should consider the well-being of the workers while developing workplace policies (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2021). Work is a part of humanity since human beings transform nature, adapt to its needs, and derives fulfillment by engaging in human activities. 

HR managers should ensure that every worker gets compensation that is equal to their pay. However, the current labor market works against the employees who perform the most and challenging roles in the firm. For example, low-level employees get way lower salaries than high-level executives who earn more but perform less roles. Organizations need to improve the well-being of the employees who work hard to improve their productivity and sustainability (Shipler, 2014). Some of the low-level employees work under horrible conditions. Some of the work environments erode the worker's dignity by treating them like slaves. In such organizations, employee rights are violated, and their role is not respected. The compensation they get is way less than the tasks they perform in the firm. Shockingly, the organizations they work for require them to increase their performance since this is the only way that the productivity of the organization will be improved. 

HR managers should aim at offering compensation and benefits packages that enhance the well-being of all the workers. These salaries would improve the economic well-being of the workers at a time when the gap between the rich and the poor is widening daily. Income inequality has facilitated the visible gap in well-being between the wealthy and the poor in the country. Income inequality predicts all the factors in an individual's life, such as health, home environment, education, and employment in the labor market (Cohen, 2014). Usually, racial minority groups are disproportionately affected by income inequality due to their low educational achievement. These people usually live in dilapidated neighborhoods marred with insecurity. Additionally, these people rarely access the healthcare services they deserve, hence are exposed to chronic illnesses that shorten their life span. Besides, such people get fewer employment chances in the labor market. This, therefore, fosters a vicious cycle of poverty where generations and generations of marginalized groups are disproportionately affected by systemic discrimination.
