Artificial intelligence (AI), in most cases is referred to as the intelligence of the machine. Therefore, a machine is designed in a manner that it can think for itself. More research is being carried out to introduce emotional aspects into the machines. Hence, the aim of the paper is to summarize the main points for those articles that support and criticize artificial intelligence.

Main Points in Support for Artificial Intelligence

Many people support artificial intelligence since it not associated with errors and it has a greater precision for accuracy. Additionally, artificial intelligence is being applied in space exploration this is because they have the ability to withstand a hostile environment of the interplanetary space. Artificial intelligent robots are designed in a manner that the planetary atmosphere does not affect their functioning and physical state. In this case, artificial intelligence has contributed significantly to the study of space that human beings could not achieve easily (Ingrand, & Ghallab, 2017).

When Earths Nadirs is to be explored, intelligent robot are used especially to mine for fuels. Hence, artificial intelligence is very important in minimizing deaths linked to the process of mining. The machines have adequate intelligence that can be utilized to explore depths of the oceans. As a result, the intelligence machine is used to overcome the limitations that human face in exploring dangerous regions such as ocean depths (Ingrand, & Ghallab, 2017). Additionally, these machines can be used to replace humans at work since there are some works, which can be performed by intelligent robots. These machines have programmes installed in them that are able to handle greater responsibility (Steels, & Brooks, 2018).

Application of artificial intelligence is being used in smartphones; for instance, they are able to detect what a user is going to type and correct human error. Moreover, artificial intelligence has improved the lives of many people such as their application in GPS and maps, which can be used to evade traffics and to identify shortest routes (Brynjolfsson, Rock, & Syverson, 2017). Fraud can also be detected by the use of artificial intelligence in smart card-based systems. Human resources are saved in organizations, which uses digital assistance that interacts with the users. There are several time-consuming and repetitive tasks done by artificial intelligence (Brynjolfsson et al., 2017).

Main Points Criticizing Artificial Intelligence

There is a high cost incurred in repair and maintenance for the artificial intelligence and programs installed that need to be updated to meet the ever-changing requirements. There is an instance when data can be lost and retrieving them is time-consuming and costly. Dangers of artificial intelligence revolves around ethics and moral values as it is claimed that it is not ethically correct to create something that replicates human being (Steels, & Brooks, 2018). Intelligence should not be created as it is considered as a gift of nature. Therefore, it is not right to install intelligence into a machine to enable it for the benefit of human being.

These intelligent robots are able to store a large amount of information but access, storage and retrieval are not as effective as in the case of the human brain. The machines are able to perform repetitive work for long but they do not become better with experience as compared to a human. The act of people doing their own tasks and feeling a sense of belonging is being eliminated in the work of artificial intelligence (Steels, & Brooks, 2018). Nevertheless, these AI is encouraging laziness among the people as the machine is able to do every work at homes or place of work. The unemployment rate is increasing as most works, which can be done by human beings are being taken over by machines (Brynjolfsson et al., 2017).

Conclusion

I agree with the points raised in support for artificial intelligence as they have helped to explore certain information that human being could not be able to access. For instance, there is a lot of information retrieved from the ocean depths, by the use of artificial intelligence, which have contributed significantly to the field of oceanography.
