Blended learning has become a significant part of higher education because of its online advantages and traditional instructions. The realization of blended learning is through learning and teaching environments where different teaching and learning modes are combined. The systemic use of technology and face to face interactions have minimize the adverse effects of each on the quality of learning for children. Besides, blended learning encourages collaboration between the instructors and learners, and also among learners.

In comparison to pure classroom learning, blended learning provides learner-centered education. Such an approach acknowledges learners' contributions to the classroom, including their interests and needs, and what they get as relevant and meaningful outcomes. Also, the learner's autonomy and responsibility in carrying out the process of learning develop metacognitive awareness. This enables the students aware of the behavior that helps them to learn and proactively apply the strategies. Blended learning is also better for teaching declarative knowledge and information about ideas. The rationale stems from the availability of multimodal content on the internet.

Relative to pure-technology based learning, blended learning provides instant feedback. The accessibility to instructors via mail enables timely feedback from instructors. Immediate feedback is beneficial in understanding, correcting any form of misconceptions, and allowing them to retrieve the concepts they have learned. Also, it ensures that the instructions given are to a dedicated learning environment. Students are presented with an opportunity for face to face social interaction. This promotes collaborative and interactive learning. Blended learning is more effective when students collaborate other than working independently. Furthermore, through discussions and small group assignments, students can interact and collaborate. Also, the interactions level up the quiet students and those from marginalized groups.
