In my understanding, political ideology is simply a set of ethical ideals, doctrines principles and even myths that clearly explains how the society ought to have work and further offers a political and cultural blueprint for a specific social order.

I believe my political ideology focuses on the greatest good for the greatest number of people as the overriding rule in all moral decision as defined by utilitarianism. I firmly believe that we should do what will benefit the entire community rather than on individuals. It is important for the government to take into consideration actions that would benefit a large group of people rather than benefiting a few people in their background. Regarding my political socialization, education or school greatly influenced my political ideology. I was introduced to the concept of voting and election when selecting class officers. Political facts were introduced through courses in American history and government. The course on political ideology heavily influenced my values and beliefs hence shaping my political ideology.

My political ideology is imperative because it drives my actions and defines my future. With this ideology, I believe that I can change the world to be a better place for everyone supporting activities that will benefit the larger society. I firmly believe that my ideology greatly influences my decision making both politically and socially. For instance, I am against abortion, rape, incest and corruption because none of these is associated with the greatest good for the greatest number. I always ensure that before making any decision, I invest a quality time to weigh the consequences and whether the society will benefit. Politically, I am sure that I will be able to vote a leader who has its people in heart and will always do everything for the good of the nation.

The concrete results of my typology test from pew were that I am a strong utilitarianism which has defined my political ideology. From the test, it is clear that doing a greater good for a larger number of people is critical for the good of the nation. In general, I believe that the results of the typology test accurately reflect my political ideology. It is because I often make sacrifices for good for my collogues implying that I am inclined on doing a greater good that will benefit a large number of individuals rather than benefiting myself.
