My purpose in life is to learn from mistakes each day. I believe in the saying "you live and you learn" and "to err is human". Human beings make mistakes every day, both small and large, although they act and live in ways to avoid making them. Failures and mistakes in life are gems, guideposts, and gifts in our growth and learning as people. In my experience, I have realized that the bad decisions people ever make in life produce the most important life lessons. Experience and time act as an excellent teacher when I learn lessons from poor decisions. Some mistakes seem like the end to the world, on the surface, but in reality, they present us with the perfect opportunities to grow, to learn, and to improve ourselves.
I am committing myself to my purpose of learning from mistakes by embracing failures, errors, and shortcomings because they only make me uniquely who I am. I believe wholeheartedly that experimentation with life yields good judgment. I try not to avoid living in denial and placing the blame on others whenever my decisions yield a negative result. Some mistakes can be inconsequential and ignorable, while others are lethal and can cost a person friends or money. Regardless of the type of mistake done, it requires analysis and acknowledgement to prevent it from reoccurring. Lessons from a mistake lie in the way I interpret errors. I believe repeating the same pattern never produces a different result, and it is more critical to face mistakes rather than escaping from them because they never solve themselves. I look at errors and mistakes and strive to understand them to promote insight and progress. Sometimes I feel shameful about errors I make, but I never hide in denial to avoid hindering progress.
