Jamie Oliver, a 34 years old chef, has provided an educative video on suitable food for children while addressing poor feeding habits in American society. Today, almost two-thirds of Americans are obese or overweight, and the number is expected to rise if effective measures are not taken ( Oliver, 2010) . While the US loves being paranoid about deaths from murder and homicides, less effort is put to address death caused by bad health. Diet-related diseases are the largest cause of death in the US and globally. Obesity causes Americans over 10% of healthcare bills, which is approximately 150 billion dollars annually.
Americans led by Virginia, the unhealthiest state, are losing the next generation due to health issues arising from bad feeding. Oliver gives a case of 16-years old Brittany, who has only six years to live due to poor feeding ( Oliver, 2010) . Just like Brittany, millions of young children will both live to see the third-generations since they have not grown up within a food environment that teaches cooking and healthy eating. Thousands of obese or overweight children face psychological disorders and low self-esteem as a result of bullying ( Oliver, 2010) . Poor dieting is the major cause of increased cases of obesity experienced over the last 30 years. Fast foods have taken over the country with the emergence of powerful brands and food stalls. Unlike past powerful brands that sell fresh foods, today, companies sell fast foods and processed foods filled with extra ingredients, fats, and sugar. The family used to teach food culture is no longer in existence as generation to generation is being introduced to these toxic foods.

There is a need to change American education to incorporate healthy feeding habits. The education system and family should focus on teaching children healthy eating from the elementary school level. Also, there is a need to change the food industry to incorporate food experts instead of accountants whose focus is money at the expense of lives. Families need to take effective measures in reducing consumption of fast and processed foods by their children. "In 10 years, the history of your children's lives, happiness -- and let's not forget, you're clever if you eat well, you know you're going to live longer -- all of that stuff, it will look different. OK?" ( Oliver, 2010) . Food brands need to put children's health and future in their hearts and ensure people shop healthily. Families also need to take responsibility and start teaching their children how to cook and eat healthy foods.
