Of the various types of white papers, the Purdue Owl lecturer describes, how would you label this type of white paper? Why?

This type of whitepaper can be categorized as a hybrid business/technical whitepaper. This is because the whitepaper highlights both the benefits that the business gains when using the cloud and educating the audience on the technical details (Graham, 2013). It is an easy read for audiences with no technical savviness while at the same time informative to those that are tech-savvy. This is because it gives precise details about the cloud concepts, approaches that were previously used, and each concept's pros and cons (Graham, 2013). Therefore, the business benefits as the consumers are informed on the benefits of the service or product while at the same time core concepts and details of the technical aspect are highlighted.

Who is the audience for this white paper?

This white paper is targeted for the external audience (Graham, 2013). This is because it is directed at individuals in a particular field or industry, Information Technology. The white paper gives an explanation about an existing concept and the trends that are occurring in recent times. The white paper also explains how the new trend can be a solution to previously experienced problems or issues. It delves into details of moving IT operations to the cloud, the existing issues with this concept, and attempts to convince people about the benefits of the proposed solution or concepts being implemented (Ballada, 2017).

Comment on the level of formality of the writing in this white paper. Is it written in a formal style? Or an informal style? Or both?

The writing style used in this white paper is formal, informative, and persuasive. The writing style is slightly argumentative as it compares the various cloud concepts, evaluates the cons and pros of each. A formal and informative tone has been used to inform the audience of the different traditional and current cloud concepts in use. It is a very formal document that targets both the business and technical external audiences.

Give two examples.

The proper white paper citations can illustrate the formality used when using information from other sources like "According to a survey conducted by Sungard Availability Services in 2015, the 3 top reasons for cloud migration failures as illustrated by Fleece (2015)”

The author makes use of visual imagery like charts and graphs to provide an alternative way of explaining.

Week 5 Discussion 1

The CANRIGHT document discusses various types of a whitepaper on page 10-11. As you examine the white paper on Autism, what type of whitepaper would you argue it is, based on the CANRIGHT document information?

This is a hybrid business/technical whitepaper (Canright, 2016). This is because it is extremely educative and detail-oriented on matters regarding Autism, the methods previously used, and the new methods used to teach autistic kids. It also identifies the significant issue that exists in teaching autistic kids and proposes a solution, but the focus of the article is not persuading readers on the use of robots. It just highlights the relevant information and gives the technical advisers and other decision-makers reading to make the decision independently.

What is the best aspect of the white paper on Autism, and why do you think so?

The easy readability of the white paper is accompanied using graphics to act alternative or additional explanations to the various concepts. It also competently answers the basic questions of what, why, and when, hence equipping the reader with the fundamental concepts of the issue being discussed (Canright, 2016).

The white paper provides a lot of useful data that is valuable and educative to the audience. The white paper also gives valuable insight and advocates on some of the challenges faced by autistic kids and how that problem can be saved.

Read through the previous approaches section. Are these areas that would benefit from more research and more citing of sources? If so, provide two areas in the paper that show this need.

Some sections would benefit from additional research, such as the methods used in teaching children with Autism. More focus can also be put on how parents or teachers can quickly identify students with Autism at an early age. Research should also be done on new findings that are more pocket friendly and easily available (Mengoni et al., 2017).

Further and more in-depth research should be done on techniques to be used during and after school to help the autistic kids can communicate with the other children or adults, because eventually they will become part of a larger world.

Please explain the executive summary. What Grammar error do you notice in the following text from the executive summary? People with Autism are characterized as having difficulties with speech and social skills, repetitive behaviors or speech, and heightened sensory sensitivity. As seen below in Figure 1, Autism is not just one thing. It is a myriad of components, each exhibiting its own set of challenges.

T he summary attempts to explain that Autism does not exist in just one type, but many manifests differently (Mengoni et al., 2017). However, the segment's grammar translates to the named symptoms being relevant in all types of Autism, which is not the case. The punctuation marks, commas, and full stops could have been used differently to make the message clearer and straightforward.

The executive summary also highlights on some symptoms instead of the primary causes that trigger those symptoms and many more. The graphical imagery provided after the executive summary also provides more information that is detailed and clear as opposed to the executive summary which is shallow.

Would this white paper benefit from additional graphics? If so, which part of the paper would you recommend a graphic to help the point being made?

I think this white paper has just the right amount of graphics. There is a harmonious balance in the use of words and graphics, and they work collaboratively to pass the information to the audience (Canright, 2016). Additional graphics on the paper would probably be too distracting to the eyes and draw more attention to the graphics and away from the worded message. Both the graphics and the words have been used in just the right quantities.

What is the device? How is it defined?

The stainless-steel skillet is the best quality pan and must-have kitchenware as it can be used to cook almost everything. Depending on the intended purpose, you can choose a skillet made from the other materials such as granite or non-stick. However, these other materials will limit the use of the skillet (Mattison, 2020).

What is the device made of?

The skillet is made of stainless steel, just like the name suggests. This material makes it strong, good quality, and long-lasting. The stainless steel can withstand extremely hot temperatures. Therefore, the pan can even be used in the oven (Mattison, 2020).

What does the device look like?

The skillet has short sides that appear to be slanted, a flat bottom, and a slightly smaller surface area as compared to other pans (Mattison, 2020). The stainless-steel skillet side at the end is designed in such a way that it appears to have another layer, giving it a 3D illusion. When clean, the skillet has ha shiny surface, and if you look closely enough, you might see your reflection (Kring, 2020).

What does the device do? How does the object do this?

The stainless-steel skillet can be used for an array of uses such as frying, searing, preparing sauces, braising, and sautéing (Mattison, 2020). However, it is not recommended to use it for sautéing or gentle heating if you do not have experience doing that or not sure of the right cooker temperature; this is because it can be hard to clean up such sticky stains (Kring, 2020).
