Part One
The health care system focuses on improving its delivery system by ensuring that people eliminate wasteful spending, which will then advance on quality. Low-cost health care services are essential for the public because it provides that there are easy access and availability services. However, persons can only implement this if their proper strategies that will help in eliminating waste in the health care systems. Reducing waste will help in providing quality and cost-effective services. People can identify hospital waste by analyzing the number of health care practitioners who have quitted giving suggestions on improvement. Misdiagnosis on patients and complains from patients is an indication of waste. Failing short of customer's or exceeding their expectation shows that the quality of services is not sufficient. However, the hospital policy of how different activities are carried out can also contribute to waste. For instance, unnecessary procedure implemented to diagnose patient's condition facilitates wastage because people waste time and resources.
Part Two
I once volunteered in a particular hospital where I worked as a nurse. During this period, I realized the hospital was indulging in activities that resulted in too much waste without recognizing. Some of these activities included patients waiting for appointments, poor hospital layout, which caused works to move around and expired supplies that had to be disposed of since they had expired. I was only able to fix the supplier's wastage, where I aired my concerns to the administration's personnel responsible for budgeting. Besides, the administration was able to solve time wastage on patient's appointments, where they implemented a more convenient approach. However, the issue with the hospital layout needed more intervention by the management, which in this case, I was not able to fix, but my concerns are taken to account.
