Hello Student name , I agree with you that the video is very touching. Hospitals have different experiences for the patients, healthcare providers, family and friends who are in the hospital. It is not easy to see another person suffering and experiencing pain due to their health issues. The pressure associated with waiting for a medical result is intense. The woman waiting for the mammogram, for instance, is worried as seen in her eyes and she is restless. The results the woman or any other patient in the waiting line may be life-changing, especially when the effects are adverse. The woman, for example, maybe is having cancerous cells, thus developing breast cancer which will change the course of her life. Healthcare professionals should be empathetic to every person in the hospital as they are not aware of the reasons, they are there. The nurses and doctors should make sure that patients should be treated in the right way and even encouraged when they are waiting for results.
The health care providers should work on creating a positive and accommodating environment for the patients. The environment should also be accommodating for healthcare providers. The working hours are long, for example, twelve hours as seen in the video. Working in a hospital is stressing, and if the nurses are not relaxed, then it would be hard for them to emphasize with the patients or even be effective at their work. The nurses need to be rested, which means the twelve-hour shifts should be reduced to make sure that the professionals have enough time to be rested physically and mentally. In that way, human errors will be reduced significantly. When the working hours are less, the nurses will be able to pay attention and deliver quality care to the patients to the last minute before shift change.
