Forgetting is a psychological behavior where people forget about bad memories. This can happen consciously or unconsciously like a form of self-defense. One applies coping techniques to accelerate the anxiety. On the hand, an individual can keep good memories of something they do not want to forget by writing down, storing as a video, song or recording.

People tend to forget because of various reasons, but some people believe that forgetting is intentional. I agree with the argument that to forget about something, an individual has to make a conscious effort to do so. Some people want to forget about what they know simply because it was painful; hence, remembering triggers back the pain. They also tend to forget so that it does not haunt them, so they do not want to bring bad memories in their life. The best example is to forget about someone’s phone number because he or she did something wrong. One has to delete the c so that there is no way to contact him or her. It is a decision that an individual takes to forget about something especially unpleasant. Therefore, it will be hard to invite more problems if there are no contacts.

In conclusion, forgetting is contact conscious action where an individual can use thought suppression as the best technique to block the recall of the anxiety that may arouse memories. Individuals make motivated actions by relating to unrelated stories to forget the worst memories. On the other hand, people tend to keep good memories they keep items that will remind them of the good memories such as photos, clothes, movies, videos, songs and even notes down so that they remember later.
