The first core value that moves me as a head coach is honesty. Honesty is the quality of being depended on due to the truthfulness of a person (Torres, 2017). In practice, an honest athlete will tell the truth concerning their doings regardless of the scenario presenting itself. For instance, an honest athlete will state the actual reason why they failed to show up for practice while every other team member did (Torres, 2017). The athlete may also communicate in a clear and fashionable manner. An honest athlete will simplify their messages for everyone to understand them. Honest athletes will openly express their biases on the other athletes for instance during practice (Torres, 2017). On the actual games day, an honest athlete will not allow the other athletes on the field to be disqualified from the competition for reasons caused by them. An honest athlete will not lie to the interviewers regarding the number of practices they have had for the season (Stacy, 2015). An honest athlete during the games day will also not lie concerning their victory or loss. An honest athlete will take his or her time to respond to the other players' questions during the game day (Stacy, 2015). Away from the team, honest people will communicate with the community members clearly, help them with athletics tips, tell them the truth about how it works for them, and give their opinions on societal matters.

The other core value is respect. In practice, a respectful athlete will treat everyone on the team fairly (Lutz, Boon & Xue, 2016). He or she will follow the various rules that have been put in place to modify behavior. A respectful athlete will appear for game pieces of training without failure and will adhere to the guidelines (Lutz, Boon & Xue, 2016). During gameplay, a respectful athlete will treat the other players with dignity. He or she will pay attention to the details about their athletic events (Lutz, Boon & Xue, 2016). A respectful person will not engage in abusive communication with their opponents and will be free to talk about their athletic experiences. Outside the team, the respectful; team members will treat every member of the society equally and with decorum (Feezell, 2015). Respectful athletes will take part in the societal building activities in the various capacities. Respectful athletes will avoid degrading behavior outside their teams (Feezell, 2015). A respectful athlete will also be willing to share their opinions regarding athletics and games without being forced.
