Numerous concepts have been debated with regards to humanity including practices such as religion. As a result, there are practices unique to a particular group of people depending on their beliefs, hence the emergence of different religious faiths. Different religious faith groups such as Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity each has uniqueness whether it is due to beliefs or practices that make it different from other religions. Similarly, the different faiths observed across the globe share certain similarities, which make different religions similar to one another. Religion is associated with certain practices and beliefs that are unique, different, as well as similar, such as in Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity as religious faiths. The aim of this paper, therefore, is to describe the unique elements of each of the three religious faiths, their differences and similarities.

The unique about Zoroastrianism, which was a religion known and practiced in the Persian Empire and made it distinct from both Judaism and Christianity, is that it existed in oral tradition. This means that it was a religion that was it was taught and passed down to younger generations by word of mouth as opposed to it being written in scriptures and stored in writing. The unique thing about Judaism, a religious culture of the Jewish people practiced in the Middle East, is that it was characterized by monotheism at a time when most societies were polytheistic. This means that the Jews, those individuals or faithful who practiced Judaism, believed in and worshiped only one god.

One of the similarities that Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity share is that, the people who practice each of the faiths practice monotheism. This means that Christians, Jews as well as the Zoroastrians all believed in and worshiped one god. Another similarity is that all different religions observe a specific place of worship a synagogue for the Jews, Church for the Christians and the Dar-e Mehr for Zoroastrians. Both Christianity and Zoroastrianism express its people’s belief in the virgin birth of the one thought to be the savior of the people. Christians believe that the Virgin Mary was the mother of Jesus the savior of Christians, while Zoroastrians believed that Zarathustra, their savior was also born of a virgin. In Judaism however, the birth of Jesus was not part of the liturgy and that Jesus was born a normal man and through a normal birth. It is only in Christianity and Judaism that share a similarity with regards to the source of good and evil in the society. Christians and Jews believed that it is the one god they believed in and worshiped that was the source of good and evil. Zoroastrians instead believed that it is the one god they worshiped and believed that was the source of good, and that evil was a separate principle.

Among the differences between Zoroastrianism, Judaism, as well as Christianity, is that of veneration of subordinate divinities with regards to their worship. While in some of the denomination in Christianity, such as Catholicism, the Holy Trinity, God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as well as the Virgin Mary are venerated in worship, in other Christian denomination on the one god is venerated in worship. However, in Judaism and Zoroastrianism respectively, only the one god they believe in and worship is venerated in worship and subordinate divinities are venerated in worship on condition that they creations of the one god. Another difference is based on the virtue by which religion is based upon as in Zoroastrianism it is based on kindness, in Christianity on doing good deeds and being a good person, and in Judaism, it is based on justice.
