The topics that I formulated are: Global temperatures are rising, Drug abuse is a common occurrence throughout all sports, and the right to carry concealed weapons has saved lives. The criteria that I used to select the above topic are explained in the following paragraph.
The selection of the topic of: Global temperatures are rising is based on the fact that there is a general concern regarding the increase in global temperatures due to the production of industrial gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect. I believe that there is the need to create awareness on methods in which global temperature can be managed efficiently ( Vermeer & Rahmstorf, 2009) . I also selected the topic “Drug abuse is common throughout all sports” because presently people are more likely to test positively for the use of drugs such as a means of promoting their performance in athletics and other forms of sports competitions. I also believe that it is an important topic because there is the need to create awareness about the need to avoid the use of performance enhancement drugs during sports activities. I selected the topic: The right to carry concealed weapons has saved lives since I believe that there is little understanding about the benefits of possession of concealed weapons ( Ramachandra et al ., 2012) .

According to my personal view, the topic of the right to carry concealed weapons is a major sociological issue that requires to be understood because it has been regarded as one of the measures through which life safety will be achieved. I believe that if more studies are conducted to determine the effectiveness of carrying concealed weapons, policy recommendations can be made which promote their possession for the purpose of protecting people who are constantly under the threats of being attacked by gangsters and burglars ( Lott, Jr & Mustard, 1997) .
