Introduction

During a site visit to school X (identity hidden for confidentiality purposes), I examined the school's compliance with 13 program components of Title IX that were developed for the assessment tasks. Following the assessment, I compiled a report of the level to which the school complied with different components and also provided a recommendation of the course of action that the school needs to take to achieve a high level of compliance with the 13 components of Title IX compliance. 

Report of the Findings

The following report presents the findings of a survey conducted at a school to determine its compliance with the 13 program component:

Leadership 

I observed that the principal of the school intervened in cases where there was uncertainty regarding the action to be taken during management of school projects. I also observed that the principal was willing to seek the participation of other teachers, parents, and students in the school's activities. 

Risk Management 

It was found that the school did not have adequate measures put in place to address risky incidents such as emergency situations that may threaten human lives. For instance, there were few first aid facilities within the school compound and the one available were not adequately used. 

Standards and Control

The assessment of standards and control focused on the extent to which the school prevented inappropriate conduct among students and also implemented policies that regulate the activities taking place in the institution. For instance, I examined whether the school prevented students from misusing study time from performing personal duties and found that the institution was less strict on reducing time wastage such as when teachers were nit around to provide lessons to the students. 

Continuous Improvement

The survey of the institution showed that the management did not put in place measures to improve the existing facilities within the institution. For instance, there were many learning facilities that did not have an adequate number of furniture to ensure student comfort. 

Training

The school put in place programs aimed at training teachers on how to perform administrative work in addition to teaching. On the other hand, the level of provision of administrative training was inadequate since it was only provided twice a month. Based on my assessment, I assumed that this interval did not provide teachers with adequate competence in performing different managerial roles. 

Monitoring

The principal of the school was observed to be involved in monitoring activities such as the reporting of teachers and their provision of lessons to students. I also observed that he monitored development activities within the institution such as school compound cleanliness and the general orderliness within the institution. 

Control 

This is the level to which the school regulated activities such as student disorderliness and deviation from the institutional mission and objectives. It was found that the principal was the most instrumental in the performance of control tasks by asking teachers to contribute to the monitoring tasks. 

Auditing

The survey of the institution also examined its auditing activities. It was found that the school has implemented auditing in the use of grants from the government and the use of its equipment. The auditing task was performed after every two months. I developed the perception that this interval was adequate to enable them manage their activities and enhance the schools’ competitiveness. 

Cost management

In order to reduce the cost of performance of its regular activities, the school had put in place a policy which seeks that approval of its principal and boards of directors. This ensured any activity that could be costly to the institution was not authorized by the administration. 

Cooperation

The survey at the school examined the extent to which members of the school cooperated among themselves in the achievement of the institutional goals and objectives. It was found that there was a moderate cooperation among teachers and the principal in the managing the daily operations of the institution. 

Consultation

The survey also examined the extent to which teachers sought the views of one another in a consultative procedure of managing the activities in the institution. The main observation that was made is that the principal was willing to observed consultation among the staff but they had not been motivated to actively implement the practice as a method of resolving the challenges they encountered. 

Public Relations

The survey in the institution examined the level to which the institution created a positive image of the institution in the public. For instance, the examination of its cooperation with the members of the public showed that it was not adequately involved in creating awareness about its mission and vision in a manner that public participation could be incorporated. It 

Social Responsibility

The survey examined the manner in which the school contributed to the needs of the community by providing support services in a manner that benefited the nearby residents. It was found that the school participated in cleanliness exercises and also contributed to awareness programs such as the need for hygienic sanitation among members of the community. 

Recommendations

Following the assessment of the institution during the survey, it was recommended that the school needs to take actions in ensuring risk management within the institution is adequately implemented. This can be achieved by ensuring first aid facilities are within the institution and students and teachers are informed about conditions within the institution that can contribute to the dangers to their safety ( Sturm, 2006). My recommendation for the training system for teachers in the institution is that they should be trained in the areas where they encounter the greatest challenges of managing their tasks and the principals should provide each teacher with a divided attention in order to motivate them to perform their duties with dedication and commitment. It also recommends that teachers and students in the institution should be trained to manage the organization’s facilities in an effective manner. This is achievable by motivating them to increase their involvement in exercising care when handing organizational facilities in order to prevent breakages or misuse ( Rea & Parker, 2014).
