Recycling is an important concept in reducing environmental pollution and I therefore frequently engages in it on a daily basis. The primary way I engage in recycling is by keeping my refuse separate to ensure recyclable waste does not mix with non-recyclable refuse. This is a principle of separating wastes at the sources that I learned from environmental activists who encourage recycling of materials such as glass, plastics and, metallic things such as cooking pans and cans. I frequently turn some of the recyclable material into different decorative art, which I sell for a profit. I consider these actions my little contribution to reducing pollution of the environment by non-degradable material.
These recycling activities have numerous benefits for the environment. They reduce the volume of waste that is routinely dumped in the landfill or refuse incinerators. By reducing dumping it also reduces the amount of pollutants in the environment thus reducing the overall environmental pollution by new refuse (EPA, 2019). Recycling also conserves natural resources since it reduces the need to exploit natural resources for new raw material. Recycling can increase economic security by creating a domestic source of raw materials.

There is a strong connection between my recycling activities and the benefits of recycling above. I have reaped economic benefits by creating art from waste and selling it. The waste is my raw material, and I convert it to art without using energy. In this regard, recycling conserves energy. The level of pollution around my home has also reduced and eliminated was container that used to attract raccoons and other animals. In this regard, recycling is indeed one of the best services we can offer to the environment. The environment rewards us back with its beauty and positive environmental health.
