Amino acids are the building blocks forming polypeptides and, ultimately, proteins. As a result, they are a fundamental part of the body and play essential roles in body functions like the synthesis of protein, repairing body tissues, and absorption of nutrients into the body. Amino acids occur naturally. However, it is also available in food supplements.

As stated, amino acids occur naturally in food items. All food contains some small degree of proteins, and a greater variety of plant-based foods provide most of the essential amino acids that were initially thought to be only present in animal-based food items. Animal sources of amino acids include chicken, pork, eggs, and milk. They provide essential amino acids the body cannot synthesize. Plant bases sources include sunflower seeds and oats which provide Methionine amino acids. Another type of amino acid is Lysine, which is naturally available in beans, avocados, hemp seeds, almonds, soy proteins, and chicken pea. Others like Spinach, pumpkins seeds, sunflower seeds, and blueberries are sources of amino acids.

People have reservations for supplements for amino acid supply. However, they supply amino acids just like the natural sources. They are easy to use and digest compared to the natural ones which must be cooked and digested for the body to utilize. The body can quickly utilize supplements because they are in liquid form, and as a result, there is no need for the boy to break them down as in the case of whole food. Most of the supplements can be sipped at any point in the day. It means that they can quickly help with hydration situations compared to the processed food. The only drawback with the supplements is that they are consumed presumably because of pharmacological reasons or the enhancement of the body's psychological functions as opposed to primary nutritional purposes. However, that does not imply they are not good or beneficial, just like the naturally occurring amino acids.
