Bahram Gur in a Peasant’s House, Ilkhanid Dynasty
The essay describes the role of leaders on promoting the welfare of their followers. In this case, Bahram Gur is not aware that his people are suffering. Based on his position, he lives well and assumes that this is the same for all those who are within his kingdom. However, he soon realizes that his actions have a negative effect on people, and they cannot even feed themselves. An illustration of this is the cow which refuses to give milk because of the cruel leadership but starts giving milk once the ruler promises that he will be more merciful and just.
