Audience responses and attendance are the main factors determining if a concert was a success or a fail. However, stage performances from the musicians and their accompanying bands have a significant influence on the concert's outcome. This essay will base its discussion on the day, time, and place the concert was held, the number of audiences, the name of the concert, and the performers who performed on stage. The essay will also discuss the music performed, and lastly, the essay will contain a personal opinion of generally how the concert was.
Beyoncé Carter performed on the 13 th of September 2013, on a Friday evening at the sold-out Palco Mundo World Stage of Rock, for the recurring music festival, Rock in Rio, held in Rio Brazil (Suzuki, 2013) . The performance was part of her tour, The Mrs. Carter Show world tour. Among the performers who went on stage with Beyonce, to please the over 23000 fans in attendance were an all-girls dance group. Celebrity male dance group, The Les Twins, who in portions of the performance demonstrated their street dance moves, also an octet of only women, The Suga Mama band graced the night’s performance with their vocal superiority. Furthermore, Mrs. Carter was accompanied by a vibrant percussion performance. An influential jazz band comprised of saxophones and a trumpet and a rock band that comprised instruments like the acoustic guitar and the electric guitar.

The evening performance was marked by a short video projected on the stage screen followed by a blinding lights show. The two features are used continuously throughout the performance, mainly to allow for the performers' many costume changes. Furthermore, the screens and lights show is used to keep the crowd cheered up as they wait for the next songs. The videos projected and the big light show further creates an intense atmosphere in the audience. The first song to be performed is, run the world (girls), followed in succession by the song, end of time. The two songs are well performed as the audiences are left fired up during the interlude, you are a queen, as they wait for the next performance. Beyoncé and her crew are dressed up in white costumes, although she makes various changes later on during the night. Despite the changes, the costumes are a perfect fit as they highlight the singer's sensual poses and graceful movements.
The singer continues her performance, singing her award-winning song if I were a boy, released in 2008, which is sung in a slow tempo and uses a bittersweet symphony melody. It is later evident that all the songs performed during the concert deviate in how they sound from their studio counterparts. Beyoncé, later on, sings, baby boy, as a song by her and Sean Paul. She is accompanied by vocals from the Suga Mama Band, who marked their most prominent participation of the evening. The singer leaves the stage for the drummer to take the stage carrying the crowd with his rhythmic show of virtuosity. The song, naughty girl, is perhaps the most dramatized song of the night as the singer and her dancers use a range of items like decors and angel wings to perform an intense and energetic dance show.
The singer employees various techniques of singing during her performance. These techniques range from call and response, evident as she sang, why don't you love me and, irreplaceable, to ululations as she sang, Single Ladies and Halo. Beyoncé sang various song sections in acapella, allowing her to showcase her vocal talent. The songs performed in acapella were 1+1, Love on Top, and I Will Always Love You, a famous song by Whitney Houston.
To mark the beginning to the end of the well organized and genuinely entertaining night's performance, the singer walks to the audience section while performing halo before returning to give thanks to the crowd and her fellow performers. In my opinion, the whole performance is well received by the crowd. The light show, vigorous dance moves, costumes used, smoke effects, and short videos used throughout the night make the performance outstanding and worth watching.
