1. Identify and explain where the Alikay product is in its life cycle and compose 3 questions that Rochelle should pose to her team, relative to the life cycle stage.
The Alikay naturals moisturizing black soap shampoo is on the phase of decline in the life cycle of the product. The description of the black soap shampoo indicates it positively contributes to making glowing hair but the outcomes of the survey suggest that the product partially satisfies and attains the needs of the users. The product has failed to fully meet the consumers even after its great start in the market. The sales started to dwindle after the users were unable to observe any benefits from the product even after its promotion.

Questions to the Team
What are the factors that you can control? What is the craziest innovation we can make?
What are the boundaries of the scope, and when do we stop developing the product?
What are the standard processes that can reduce the cost?
2. Describe how Alikay can improve its product or why they should consider replacing it. Support your answer.
I would recommend that Alikay should consider the replacement of their product. The moisturizing black soap shampoo lacks means of conditioning parched hair. The amount of extra oil in the black soap shampoo is varied and appears little. The customers use shampoo since it adds some oil on the dry ends of the scalps and hair. A conditioner is superfatted at levels higher than regular soap. An addition of conditioner will soften the hair strands texture making it softer and more comfortable to style and comb after washing. For more manageable hair, conditioner is made of moisturizers that lack in shampoos causing hair to be brittle. The high acidity of the conditioner will act in promoting the amino acids to develop and enable Keratin to embed with the strands of hair making it seems fuller of body, shiner and profoundly healthier.
3. Recommend one of the three replacement options. Explain your answer and identify
which type of innovation it is.
The survey has provided information that describes the consumer's wants. From my perspective, I believe that the Alikay naturals coconut protein shampoo and conditioner will create the highest appeal to the customers. The coconut in the shampoo helps in minimizing infections of the scalp, strengthening the hair and moisturizing it. The conditioner is the bonus of the product with numerous benefits to the users. The description of the shampoo and conditioner creates a sense of want with the explained benefits and contents. It draws the user to desire by the story of the texture and smell of the hair after using the product. Consumers express that they would want better smelling, natural, and thicker products to use for their hair, which gives the product considerable strength in boosting the company’s sales and performance. The coconut protein shampoo and conditioner integrate two different products in the same package explaining a sustaining innovation moving the organization to surpass its competitors in the market (Satell, 2017) .
4. Explain what types of production methods would be appropriate for both the Moisturizing Black Soap Shampoo and the “limited time trial” product. Support your answers.
The production method appropriate for both products is batch and flow production (Bhasin, 2018) . The batch production entails producing and completing one batch before starting a new batch. It will allow for the effective creation of the product. The flow production is crucial for mass production of the original product. The identical and standardized items will get produced in an assembly line with specialized workers. Since the company is enormous, it will utilize the high investment and working demand of the company.
5. Describe a product that you believe is in a mature life cycle phase and what could be done to move it to a growth phase.
Hair gel is a product on the mature life cycle which gets designed to make the hair stiffer. It contains water which makes it easier to wash off. They have been designed to fir the different ethnic communities to be used with a wide variation of consumers. To move the product back to the growth phase, it will require an improvement allowing it to work with both the dry and wet hair. Also, it should be designed to reduce less stiffness in hair o make it easier to reapply.
