In your own words, what is stated as the primary mission of the social work profession?
The social work profession involves helping and guiding people who have the least ability to derive themselves from stressful and harsh living standards. The social work profession's chief goal is to ensure humans relate well, facilitate easy accessing and attainment of necessities for all people, including the disabled, oppressed, and the poor (NASW, n.d.).
How would you describe this to a friend or family member?
The social work profession balances the people with low living standards and lifts them to equality with others. Alternatively, the social work profession sees that all people are equal regardless of any individual’s weaknesses (Mapp et al., 2019). Social workers solve problems and prevent repetitive occurrences for the same instance affecting the minors.

Define what constitutes an ethical dilemma. Give an example of an ethical dilemma that you might encounter in the field of social work. This could involve your own actions, those of a supervisor or an agency policy.
An ethical dilemma involves more than two professionally conflicting ethical standards, principles, or values. Upon the occurrence of an ethical dilemma, one party is believed to take advantage of the other either directly or indirectly (Stievano & Tschudin, 2019). For example, a nurse may receive a gift from a client or any third party agent in favor of disclosing confidential information involving a certain patient at their disposal. If the nurse accepts the gifts or any favor in return for confidential information, they have violated the code of ethics in the Department of Nursing.
What part of the Code of Ethics applies to this particular ethical dilemma?
The act described above can be regarded as a breach of confidentiality in the codes of ethics since it violates the laws of confidentiality and clients' privacy (Stievano & Tschudin, 2019). Every social worker should keep their subject's information confidential no matter the circumstances they are in.
What would you do to address the situation? Be specific in identifying your dilemma and in identifying what part of the Code of Ethics applies
When a nurse breaches the patient’s confidentiality, first, I would review the confidentiality agreement, investigate the breach, and involve the law (Stievano & Tschudin, 2019). If the nurse has breached the patient's confidentiality, he or she should face legal punishments such as immediate suspension from work or be fired.
