The company whose mission is to provide clients with a wide range of service that is necessary for growth in business operates in the professional services industry. The main services offered by the company include auditing, financial and risk advisory, management consultation, and legal consultations. To capitalize on the provision of excellent services to its customers, the company focuses on ensuring that the employees have the necessary skills and abilities to provide the required services to its large customer base. The company has approximately 315,000 employees across different branches around the globe (Morrell & Simonetto, 1999). The main principle that governs the company to remain relevant in the industry entails the implementation of effective strategies that enhances the satisfaction of the customers by addressing their specific needs.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted major operations in the company thus affecting the delivery of quality services to the customers. The company has experienced a significant decline in the delivery of services to the clients considering that the pandemic has had a huge impact on major business operations. The first major change involving alteration of operations as a result of the pandemic entails moving towards proving services in online platforms considering that the pandemic is spread through physical contact. Considering the need to maintain social distancing as a measure to reduce the spread of the pandemic, the company is forced to engage in the provision of services on major online platforms in a bid to connect with different clients. The company, therefore, focuses on the implementation of measures and strategies to enhance the online services through the provision of all required resources necessary for online meetings and engagement with the client. Additionally, the company focuses on online advertisements, which helps in ensuring that the clients learn the new mode of seeking various services. The second change experienced is a reduction in the number of clients seeking different professional services offered by the company. A reduced number of clients is attributed to the fact that the current and potential clients are impacted by the pandemic cannot thus seek any kind of professional consultation services. As a result, the pandemic had created a significant reduction in the total revenue obtained by the company thus resulting in a lack of sustainability. It is important to note the relationship that exists between a high number of clients and the overall performance of an organization. An increase in the number of clients would mean an increase in the profitability levels thus better performance.

The increasing spread of the pandemic in different parts of the world impacted how the employees delivered services to the clients considering the need to engage in measures to stop the spread. The employees are required to learn different measures and strategies to enable them to engage in the provision of consultation services on different online platforms. In that case, the company ensures that the employees engage in different training programs to assist in understanding effective methods to deliver online services. Additionally, the employees are required to work from, which is a difficult task considering the norm of working from the offices. The pandemic impacted the company's ability to reach out to a wide range of customers in different parts of the world considering that majority of countries in the world experience a huge impact that resulted from the pandemic. Additionally, the Covid-19 pandemic impacted on the ability of employees to work freely considering fears of contracting the virus, which is considered deadly. In general, the pandemic affected the company’s ability to remain sustainable considering the impact on different aspects.

The professional service industry continues to experience a wide range of challenges that results from the pandemic. Firstly, the industry experienced a major impact regarding access and provision of services to the clients. Considering the mode of spread of the condition, it is important to note that most companies providing professional services experience a major challenge considering the measures that require to be put in place to reduce the spread of the pandemic. Secondly, the industry experiences a significant reduction in the number of customers that seek professional help regarding business management and other key consolations. Lastly, the industry experiences a lack of sustainability, which is an aspect of the results from the lack of adequate business operations. The industry relies on the trends in the global and local markets where business people tend to seek professional services regarding different aspects that concern entry in the markets as well as strategies to boost on their performance.

Although the company experiences a major impact resulting from the spread of the pandemic in most parts of the world, it is important to note that the organizational structure defined in the organization plays a significant role in strengthening the company. The company capitalized on the functional organizational structure, which is a structure that focuses on organizing workers based on their skills and knowledge, which is an aspect that helps to capitalize on the provision of quality services (Bolman & Deal, 2017). The main advantage that relates to the organizational structure entails the provision of specialized services considering the skills of the employees (San Cristóbal, Fernández, & Diaz, 2018). Amid the crisis, the structure enables the company to manage the employees in different departments by ensuring that they can provide consultation services at the comfort of their homes.
