Bloomberg & Volpe (2008) conducted a study known as “Developing and presenting the literature review.” The purpose of the study is determining how a literature review can be developed depending on the topic in study and then cohesively presenting the information. The methodology used in this case is using questions such as what? Why? And how? To guide in collecting literature to write a dissertation. The study concludes by showing the importance of a framework. The weakness of the study is the lack of reviewing enough materials.

Pautasso (2013) presented a study of “Ten simple rules for writing a literature review.” It is aimed at describing the ten steps an individual should follow in search of the literature review. The methodology used is using steps to follow the tips given. The article concludes by indicating that the literature review is best done when research questions are identified. The strength of the material is seen in the credibility of the author and the inclusion of a literature review by other authors on the same topic.

Winchester & Salji (2016) studies “Writing a literature review.” They aim at establishing the best ways in which a literature review can be written to be relevant to the study topic. They provide a step-by-step method of how the literature review should be carried out. The article concludes by indicating how a good literature review should demonstrate current knowledge. The strength of the material is associated with the in-depth analysis and contribution to the topic, guiding an individual on factors such as how to avoid bias when writing a literature review.

Zorn & Campbell (2006) conducted a study on “Improving the writing of literature reviews through a literature integration exercise.” The purpose was to determine how integrating literature exercises can be used in improving how an individual wrote a literature review. The method used is reviewing other author’s works on the same. The conclusion indicated that literature exercise adds knowledge, thus guiding how it will be integrated into the literature. The authors are credible, and the information contributes to the main topic showing the strength of the article.
