The principal goal of research is to find a solution to an existing problem. Therefore, focus during the process is essential. To achieve this, research questions are used to guide researchers in assessing relevant variables, and, hence, enhance the success of the study. The possible research questions in special education include Teaching Students with Autism, Teaching Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Mainstreaming, Inclusion in Education, and The Use of Technology in Special Education. Inclusion in Education is a controversial topic under much scrutiny. Nonetheless, the topic of interest will be The Use of Technology in Special Education.
Research Questions
The general research questions for the topic The Use of Technology in Special Education include what kind of technological tools are being used in teaching and learning in special education? Secondly, what are some of the challenges encountered while using technology to teach learners with special needs in school? Thirdly, how effective is the use of technology when teaching learners with special needs in school?

Specific Research Question
From the above-mentioned general research questions, the more specific question is, how effective is the use of technology when teaching learners with special needs in school? As such, the relevant sources that can provide feedback to this question include articles by Mohamed in 2018, work by Munir and others in 2018, and the article by Nordström and others in 2018. Mohamed (2018) found out that special education teachers’ approaches to the use of computers were largely positive. Moreover, Munir and others in 2018 indicated that using Multimedia in Education for Special Education (MESE) enhances children’s reading skill and memorization. MESE is a multimedia application created for reading for kids with intellectual disability. Finally, Nordström and others in 2018 found out that learners with reading problems are able to use assistive technologies to read and write. Hence, assistive technologies have the potential to promote the participation of students with disability in regular education.
Conclusion
The primary goal of research questions is to guide and enhance the focus of the research on the topic. The research questions mentioned above are essential in achieving the overall aim of assessing the state of technology in special education. After that, an analysis can be made, and a viable recommendation is given based on the study.
