Introduction. The audience comprises of teenagers aged 12 to 28 years old. The audience comprised of a total of 30 students from various ethnicities, including Native Americans, Negros’s, Native Hawaiian, Asians, and American Indians.
The topic of discussion is drug abuse, especially among teenagers.
The principle aim and goals of this speech are to persuade my audience to avoid consumption of drugs as it is one of the primary social destabilizers in society.

I want to inform my audience about the problem of drug abuse in society and persuade them that behavior change is the right solution to this problem for various reasons.
Thesis Statement: Drug abuse is the number one cause of social instability in the society as it leads to high school drop-out, corrodes social values, and denies the society the chance to tap into the potential of youngsters.
According to the World Health Organization, one of the most challenging social issues young adult faces is drug abuse (Auerbach et al., 2016)
One’s education is often the first casualty as their interest and passion in building their future wanes ( Jamal et al., 2017)
Csete et al., (2016) argued that drug addiction impairs one’s coherent thinking, denies one the opportunity to focus on building a stable career.
Young people lacking ethical values due to misguided concepts in society due to drug abuse remains the biggest threat to building a society based on social norms, values, and antiquate required of prospective citizens ( Auerbach et al., 2016) .
Lack of fundamental principles also denies society the chance to get the best out of young people.
Social values in a society are established by the daily norms, particularly of young people.
Society highly depends on young people for progress and development.
Jamal et al. (2017) maintained that drugs abuse has both short and prolonged effects on the user.
They deny the society from getting the best out of young people, leading to wastage of potential that could have been harnessed by society.
Conclusion
Concluding sentence: Drug abuse leads to a destabilized society, denies society the chance to tap into young people’s potential, and leads to a high number of student drop-out.
Closing remarks: With eroded social values, the society lacks in Godly values to steer youngsters in the right direction, impart in them the recommended teachings and position them for progress.
