Pre-reading is very important for the students since it is one of the activities which enhances understanding of the context or the lesion. Pre-reading is an activity which is done before commencing on the reading activity. It is what the student does before begging in to read a particular text. This activity is very paramount since it provides the student with a clue of what they expect from the book or the text. Moreover, pr-reading prepares the student psychological to get the information in the text. For instance, through pre-reading, the student or any other reader may decide to be enthusiastic if they find the book or a particular text to be very interesting. On the other hand, pre-reading can also make the student or reader develop a negative attitude towards the book and hence may result in unfortunate result. 

While doing pre-reading, there is particular information which the student or the reader usually look for. These can include the new words which may pose problems to the student or the readers, trying to figure out the meaning of the entire topic of before reading. This is very important as it gives the student or the reader a glimpse of what they expect in the whole book. These can also be caption or pictures which are used in the book or text which can help in giving the student or the reader on what the entire book is all about. Furthermore, the student or the readers may also be interested in issues to do with the maps, graphical representations, charts statistics and many other representations which can even give the readers a clue of what they hold expect within the entire text. This is very important particularly in enhancing the understanding of the whole book before even reading it.
