In today’s dynamic environment and work culture, organizations require employees to practice teamwork at coordinative and certain tolerant levels so that they can prove the experience of group work. Due to this reason and the project we were assigned as medical students, Tim, George, and I decided to form ‘Patient Care Group.’ The group’s agenda in the project include better interaction with patients, determination of correct treatment, and response to patients’ requests, helping patients to deal with emotions, stress, and pain, among other reasons.
We could meet at Grand Canyon University students’ center every Tuesday and Thursday of the week at six O’clock in the evening to discuss the group agenda. The group was tasked with researching from the school clinic where we could attend to patients through the guidance of health-care givers as well as conducting broad research in the library, online resources, and consultation. At the meeting, individual members through Tim’s leadership had a chance to present the topics of discussion.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Through group discussions, I have developed the confidence in attending to patients. Discussing and sharing various ideas and knowledge within the group gave me an insight on how to recognize a problem and apply an amicable solution. I have also developed and enhanced my medical skills efficiently and effectively with the assistance of fellow group members. Nevertheless, I can understand that I have the capability of achieving anything through determination.
At the ‘Patient Care Group,’ we established various features that include: first, focusing on group set goals. We agreed on clear plan teamwork based on results which helped us achieve our objectives. Second, a good communication platform through open discussion ensured that every progress in the group is kept on the track while also minimizing conflict among us.
Moreover, the fair share contribution of ideas and workload by each member created a sense of commitment to task as well as a feel of belonging to the group. Due to our diverse personalities, we brought a broad range of ideas and creativity that steered our group and support each other. Furthermore, our charismatic leader, Tim, instilled discipline among members and ensured that the group is well organized and enjoyable. This made us feel relaxed and reduced conflict.
For the success of teamwork, I have identified different steps to improve on. For example, demonstrating commitment, overcoming mindset issues, utilizing mentors, and acquiring voluntary work experience may ensure proper planning and quality service to patients.
I look upon facilitating various groups in the future to enhance career exploration, social change, intellectual pursuit, leadership and professional development among members and society at large. I must keep in mind that each participant has the freedom to speak, individual ideas need recognition, and every idea is full of value that may contribute to learning.
