A movie generally is a story or event documented by the use of a camera as a set of moving imagery and it usually shown on television or a theater hall. All movies are not just acted for the purpose of entertainment only, but they usually carry deep meanings that a viewer unless careful enough he or she may not get them. Movies since time memorial have been used by different communities to either help pass the understandings and teachings of their cultural beliefs to their offspring or to promote moral growth and respect among the community members ( Gallagher, Wilson & Jaine, 2014). The movies, therefore, have a huge role in our society including for entrainment and in the passage of essential moral lessons. For instance, a movie can be acted to help people understand the importance of living in peace amongst them, the importance of loving each other and even explain to us how and why we exist. Different actors use different styles to ensure their messages reach their audience; some use humor like Woody Allen ( Lee, 2015) . In his movies, Woody Allen uses humor to ensure that the viewers of his movies get entertained, and at the same time they get educated. In our discussion, we shall focus on how Woody Allen uses humor to educate his views through his humor comedy movies.

In one of Woody Allen’s romantic comedy, he educates people on the importance of being romantic and loving each other especially the couples who are married. Love and romance are basic things that bond two people together, and they are closely interdependent of each other in that without love one cannot show romance. Therefore being able to understand and love each, couples can be able to be romantic to each other. With the aim to ensure that people appreciate the importance of love, Woody used Annie and Alvy relationship figuratively to bring out the aspect of gender dissimilarity that exists among us. Alvy struggles to come into acceptance with the fact that he is no longer in a relationship with Annie. This shows clearly how love can make people become depressed with so many struggles seeking to get answers as to why they have lost their beloved ones. This is what happens in our lives and most of us when we break up with our beloved ones; we tend to act like Alvy ( Bailey, 2016)

Woody tries to bring out the aspect of sustaining and always maintaining our relationships. The fact that AIvy is seen to be stopping different people on the sidewalk to try and get answers is a clear indication of how love can alter the people’s emotional behaviors and thoughts. The woman’s answer that love ends or fades away with time is an important aspect that Woody wants people to understand. In most cases, people fail to get answers to a million questions that run through their mind especially when they break up, some give up with life, and some even commit suicide. All of these are not solutions; it is good for one to get it in their heads that love can fade away with time and therefore they must be prepared for breakups in case that happens. It is a no one’s fault that love fades say with time and therefore when such a situation comes, both partners should understand each other and move on as AIvy does at the end of the movie.

Through his acceptance that love is crazy, irrational and absurd by AIvy, Woody is trying to pass the message that not all the times that those people who are in love must have a good time, sometimes love can turn into an unlikable ordeal that people can completely fail to understand it. Woody is trying to pass that message that those in a relationship must be aware of the fact that love is something that has not been understood well and therefore being in a relationship is a risk, especially if there is little or no love between the two partners.

Alvy remembers his two x- girlfriends and how he at one moment was happy with either of them. He regrets some of his deeds which he thinks might have contributed to their breakups ( Gallagher, Wilson & Jaine, 2014) . On a careful thought for a long period of time, he fails to understand clearly why they had broken up. The fact that they also did not end up together with Annie is an indication that Woody wanted to pass that we may think that love exists among us when we are in a relationship but soon or later realize it is not there. Allen, therefore, is trying to pass a message that people should always be romantic and remain in constant communications to avoid cases of breakups as love slowly fades away and that may be facilitated if people are in constant fights or are unromantic to each other ( Lee, 2015) .

Woody Allen also in this movie uses some funny quotes that when carefully analyzed have a deep meaning touching on love and romance. The use of these quotes is to ensure that the viewers get the reason for watching the movie in most cases the quotes may be repeated several times. For instance, in this movie the quotes are meant to reveal or bring out the importance of love and romance in relationships or marriages. As AIvy is trying to figure out why he is in deep depression, he uses some figurative words to insist on the need for love and romance.

This, therefore, makes the movie an educative took that even while people are getting entertained through the use of funny jokes and comments, people are also learning about the usefulness and need for love in their lives more so for those that are in relationships. Through such a movie, people can develop good habits which can help protect their relationships from collapsing since they will be able to quickly note when there are some changes which are likely to reduce their love just like they saw happen in the movie.

In his other movie, Husbands, and Wives, Woody Allen uses two families who are close friends. When one family notices that the other family has started breaking up, they begin analyzing their marriage and also end up breaking up as the other couple gets back together. In this movie, there are more funny situations that are specifically meant to make one be aware of love and romance. The fact the couple breaks their relationship dates other people but at long last get back together is a very powerful indicator of the presence of love. These scenarios, therefore, try to teach us that it’s quite easy to make wrong decisions in a relationship and therefore before someone makes a decision they should carefully analyze the situation before making a decision. Both cases of separations in the movie occur due to the inability to have a careful on the subject matters resulting into conflicts before parting ways ( Gallagher, Wilson & Jaine, 2014).

The movie also displays the funniness with love, the fact that love has no limits is evident as the 50-year-old professor of English, gets attracted to his 20-year-old student. In this scenario, Woody intends to pass a message that love can occur between people who may be distinct in tribes, ethnicity, religion or ages. It is a very powerful feeling that can make two individuals from different localities come together ( Lee, 2015).

Also, in this movie aspects of faithfulness and trustfulness are highlighted. Many cases of relationship breakups are due to mistrust and unfaithfulness. In the movie, both couples break up and end up dating other people almost immediately after they break up. Woody in his movie wants all the people to understand that without trust and faithfulness in a relationship or marriage, there will be no love and therefore it is better that most people learn to develop trust amongst them to avoid breakups. He, therefore, intentionally comes up with the part talking about faith and trust so that as viewers will be watching, they can learn about its importance in sustaining healthy relationships.

Developing the ability to trust your partner with no doubt in al that they do is one key factor of a good relationship, and in such relationship, the aspect of love and romance can be experienced. But once there is no trust, cases of continued fights and conflicts arise as partners won’t be able to withstand each other. In this particular movie, we see a family break up just because of a small and insignificant understanding and due to that the husband goes away, and he even worsens the situation. Woody Allen is, therefore, trying to make it open the importance of communication in a relationship (Shumway, 2012).

Also, in the movie, Judy is seen telling Gabe that every relationship has a beginning and an end just like our life. This especially meant to educate the viewers that just like life; we must maintain relationships because many factors can cause it to end any moment without our knowledge. That means that if we take good care of our partners, there will be love and definitely romance and if we neglect and mistrust our partners definitely that relationship may collapse quickly. Woody, therefore, is very specific and chooses quotes and topics that he thinks may be important in shaping the relationships among couples.

Through this movie, people can also learn about the absolute importance of good communication. Gabe and his wife cannot agree on the issue of whether to have a child or not are one of the indicators that can prove the importance of communication in a relationship or marriage. They cannot sit down to talk over the matter conclusively and therefore, that has been a challenge in their lives. In a healthy relationship, communication allows one to get to understand what the other person’s thoughts are regarding the matter that is maybe bothering them and therefore through discussions they can resolve the matter without having to fight or argue over it. The fact that Gabe and his wife are in a disagreement indicates a lack of communication among them and that later results in mistrust and separation.

The movie also advises on the importance of listening to one’s heart before entering into a relationship. The fact the love is an inward force that makes two people come together sometimes stress and external pressures like peer pressure can make people jump into a relationship ( Bailey, 2016) . For instance, in the movie, Husband, and Wives, the first couple is seen to break up, and almost immediately the man entered into another relationship, which didn’t work. The wife also entered into a relationship and it didn’t work also. It was until they sat does not and carefully analyzed their situation that they realized that they were in love and had no option but to get back together. So Woody, using this situation tries to make people understand that with true love no matter the challenges that may occur the people will always end up together. Therefore, before anyone goes into a relationship, it is important that they analyze their emotional feeling as they could be going against their will ( Lee, 2015) .

As discussed above, movies can be extremely of great help especially if time is taken to understand the messages that the movie might be trying to bring out. It is, therefore, important that even if the movies are meant for entertainment, viewers should try to understand the meaning of the movie since every movie is meant to teach and entertain the viewers. For instance, there are movies which teach about love like the ones we have discussed above, there are those that teach us the importance of technology, there are those that educate us on the importance of peace and unity in a country and while others can teach us the importance of taking care of our environment. It is, therefore, up to the person watching the movie realize what the movie is all about and what does the writer of those movies what them to learn.
