For example, the communication of organization goals should be accompanied by the crucial element of setting a timeline to ensure that employees are tackling the stated goals because they are aware of exactly when the goal is expected to be accomplished as the list has a specific deadline. The modern work environment, a work-life balance, is also demanded to allow employees to achieve job satisfaction. In this sense, the organization should ensure that they provide ample time to its employees to ensure that other areas of life are fulfilled which will enable them to be more confident and focused.

Organizations employ various concepts for motivating employees and giving meaning to their work. Motivation is a strong force and powerful energy which provides excitement and drives employees to give maximum contributions in their work. Thus, to increase workplace motivation organizations engage in setting and achieving goals, providing clear expectations, recognition of feedback, as well as encouraging employees. The most important aspect of motivating an employee is their incorporation into the organization by informing them of objectives and how their specific work connects to the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives. For example, a front desk employee may view her work as merely answering and transferring calls to other departments without a more in-depth understanding of the significance of the role. The organization should, therefore, make the employee aware of the crucial contribution of her duty to the organization by informing her that the rightful transfer of calls to correct departments increase customer satisfaction. With such an understanding of the significance of the role, the employee is motivated to perform the task more efficiently and effectively with knowledge. Such motivation will increase productivity and overall organization performance.

For an organization to provide a motivating work environment, it must offer realistic goals and provide possibilities for employees to achieve individual, team and organizational goals. A positive work environment must provide a clear direction informing employees what is expected of them and examination of goals to ensure that they fit into the strategic framework of the organization. The modern work environment demands the regular provision of knowledge and stating of the organizational objectives through constant training and development opportunities. Learning keeps employees motivated and hence companies which offer quality and variety training opportunities to their employees keep them motivated.

Research shows that the productivity of other employees is reduced when working with low performers. The assessment shows that high performers are self-motivating, and their presence in an organization creates a stimulating atmosphere among the employees. For example, in the work employees having lazy employees, complaining consistently and remain absent with behaviors that show a lack of desire to contribute to the organization development and achievement of goals. With such characters, the performance, attitude and motivation of other employees are affected, which emphasizes the need for human resource to create a positive work environment by hiring highly motivated and focused employees.

The discussion provided on the value of motivation, the role of human resource management in finding and keeping the best employees and employee management styles are significant in creating a positive work environment which encourages employees to commit themselves to accomplish the organizational goals and objects. The studies show the various benefits of motivated employees which include increased commitment by putting their best efforts and skills to work, improved satisfaction which is essential for organizational growth, employee development for self-motivation and improved employee efficiency. The studies prove that a positive work environment is a fundamental element in the growth of an organization. Thus despite the challenges of encouraging employee motivation in the work environment, every company must invest to achieve high employee productivity.
