Homelessness is one big challenge that has caught the United States of America by surprise in the recent past. This has been witnessed in most of the cities across the country. This vice has, however, affected many people from diverse backgrounds, for instance, some of the homeless are well educated, others had well-paying jobs, others are talented in different fields while others are sickly and the streets are the place they call home.
There are several possible reasons as to why all these people, with some of them having such a great background end up being homeless. In some cases, homeless people ends being in the streets from tender age which is related to abuse or neglect at home or the loss of the parents. Other cases happen to people who are well educated for reasons such as lack of jobs which leads to them being unable to leave a decent live, or the loss of a job. When people in employment loses their jobs for reasons such as retrenchments, abuse of the office or general misconduct, they find life challenging, and some of which are not able to control the stress that comes with job loss, thus becoming irresponsible and end up not being able to afford a decent life. In other cases, some families have been made poor by circumstances such as an inability to pay bank loans and mortgages which result into their property being confiscated by the bank. On the other hand, in costly bills such as hospital bills, has made some families to sell the property they on to raise money for their kins or themselves to cater for the bill. These are some of the circumstances that are making some of the people in the U.S end up being homeless. While at it, the government should improvise a program to rehabilitate these families by providing them with shelters and food and clothing, while offering guidance and counseling and material support, for these people to be able to restart a new life.
