Taina Jimenez is the professional that I have an opportunity to interact with an interview concerning the main topic of discussion. Taina is a special education teacher, whose primary roles as a teacher is to handle grade K-3 students. Taina has in-depth experience in this field. He has been a special education teacher for twelves years and thus boasts great experience in the area. He is a formers student at Florida States University. He graduated in the year 2006. This implies that his education background is solid. The interview with Taina took place on 8th March the year 2019. During the meeting, the focus was on the interaction with parents and children with a particular need. During the interview, Tainahighlighted some of the ways heinteracts with parents to help children with special needs in school, some of the challenges he faces during the relationship, and his suggestions on how the teachers should handle such matters.

There is a high degree of resemblance between the response from Taina and the tips that are highlighted in the text concerning this relationship. From the book, the suggestions for collaborating with parents to help children with special needs rely on the following skills. The first is professional competence which implies the ability of the teacher to handle the children and also manage the relationship with the parents to achieve the goal of the particular need students. It further relies on communication strategies. This is the level to which the two parties communicate and understand each other to help such children manage their task in school and at home (Turnbull et al., 2011). Further, it also involves respect. This is particularly the respect to diversity and family culture and integrating such cultures in professional learning to help the children with special needs from a different background. Similarly, it relies on the commitment from both the parents and the profession to ensure they are committed to the course. Additionally, it relies on the equity or the degree to which there are respect and equality in handling the issue. The last one is trust between the parents and the teacher. These are the same tips which Tiana highlights. He insists on the commitment from sides, communication, trust, and equity to enhance this relationship. He claims that challenges are numerous, but obligations and discussion should be enough to help a professional avoid giving up on this war.

The differences between the tips given on the book and those that Tiana highlights are minimal. The key difference is probably the solution to overcome some of the challenges. In the book, the solution relies on commitments and communication. On Tiana's view, the answer is to continue doing the best. However, a change is needed in the style of approaching this matter in case the first strategy is failing. For instance, the professional can try to visit the families when they are not attending a meeting or returning calls to inquire if they are still committed to the relationship. What I have learned is the impact of communication with parents concerning the children on their progress and how they can be helped. There should be constant communication between the parents and professional to allow the teacher to address pertinent matters that acts as an object to student learning progress.

In a recap, communication and commitments are critical virtues in enhancing a relationship between a professional and parents on how they can collaborate to help students with special needs. Constant communication ensures that the parent and the professional shares a goal which is to ensure that the student gets help in school. Commitment on the other side is the engine that helps in pushing this relationship on the path of success.
