I decided to practice what I had learned under module threes teaching concerning insight learning. The application of thoughts from van de loo, as outlined in his book, the art of listening was crucial in the accomplishment of this task. Arguably, insight listening involves the development of thoughts from various points of view by incorporation of ideas from multiple people (van, 2016). In essence, I indulged my friend’s jorum and Laura in this exercise. Significantly, we held discussions where we pretended to be managers of an organization that was performing poorly in the market. In the conversations, we took turns to listen to each other’s insights and in the process, practised the tasks of speaking and listening. We carried out this activity at noon in the school hall, which was to act as the boardroom.

I decided to put to practice the ideas on creativity and encouragement as learned in module 4. These ideas are as explained by Kempel and David in their book ‘nurturing children’s creative potential.’ Significantly, to achieve the purpose of learning and gaining a more in-depth understanding, I decided to attend a children’s art class in MacKinnon junior school. Mostly, the aim was to gain more insight from an expert point of view. From the teacher Mrs Terry, I learned that even though some children were talented in painting than others, those with inadequate skills seemed to improve with the support of the teacher. Arguably, creativity involves learning new skills and going further to enhance the skills beyond what was learnt. From this particular activity, the concept of near misses and near wins became clearer. In essence, the idea works where, with every challenge, the children become encouraged that they are getting the success they need ( Sawyer , 2013). The application of these concepts is essential in decision making and judgement, which the activities aimed at strengthening.
