I chose to use observation because it is the most convenient and reliable method of getting the information from the area. Observation method is easy because one only needs to go to the field and use the sense of sight to make an observation. With my focus being water pollution in Utah County, I went and observed Lake Utah to understand the nature of pollution. The trend from the observation showed that litter and other wastes are being disposed into the lake leading to pollution and hindering fishing. The lake has wastes and other pollutants deposited in it leading to contamination of water, which the locals rely on for fishing.
This leads to an insight into the prominent causes of water pollution in Utah county and methods that can be used to prevent pollution. While measures are underway to minimize wastes being released into the water body, much still has to be done. The way forward is to identify methods that can be used to prevent water pollution in the area and how these methods can be implemented. The first step is to determine the major causes before creating the solution.
