Love is a strong emotion that not only represents human kindness but also shows compassion and deep affection. In other words, love is benevolent and unselfish. The power of love surrenders itself, and therefore, its presence can be identified. Looking at Leo Buscaglia's quote: "Love and self are one and the discovery of either is the realization of both." In this context, Leo implies that we are pure unbounded love at the core of our being. Arguably, any reasoning held to the contrary to this assertion distorts the truth. The authentic self can only be discovered when one goes to the source of pain to heal any separation thoughts. By letting go of the resistance, what we find out is pure love. In other words, love heals when people reconnect to the source of pain. Thus, love enhances healing and returns people to wholeness. Although there are negative reasoning about whether love can heal, whether there is time and place in love and whether there can be too much love, it is essential to understand that love is the primary source of healing and that the complications associated with the scope of love can be understood and converted to love healing .

It is noted that love is the primary ingredient to healing. By implication, when people feel love, they connect to the true self. Arguably, the true self is perfect, and as such, there are no flaws when people connect to it. Through continuous observation and appreciation of the perfection spirit in individual lives and the lives of others, people feel healed and deeply loved. At times, people may feel they are not deserving of love. However, such a feeling is often experienced by those who struggle with addiction. To feel the healing effect of love, it is essential that people under-recovery develop and believe that they are worthy of being loved. Also, they must be open to accepting love from people around them and give love in return. In other words, love heals by ensuring that people learn to appreciate one another and they uphold the spirit of reciprocating the love they receive.

Self-love is the most effective form of love that people can invite into their lives. Arguably, when people care for and love themselves, then they can show love to others. Love heals the world and individuals in it. People can expand their hearts and bring more love into their lives in different ways. Such ways play essential roles in healing both individuals and the world as a whole. First, through love, people can practice self-forgiveness. When people forgive themselves, they can bring more love into their lives. Self-forgiveness involves the realization of feelings and memories of guilt and shame related to past deeds. After such realizations, people can then accept themselves exactly as they are in that particular moment and become able to move forward with confidence and self-compassion. The healing is spread to others and the world when people offer their forgiveness to others, building stronger and trusting relationships by accepting others as they are.

Secondly, through love, people can practice positive self-talk. It is noted that most people hold onto negative stories regarding who they think they are. They repeat such stories in their minds often. People argue that " changing our thoughts and consequently the stories we tell ourselves is challenging. " However, it must be realized that it is within our control to change such stories. Such practice can only be achieved through love when we engage in positive self-talk, which transforms our internal monologue and builds our self-confidence. Besides, positive self-talk is essential in releasing old ideas that are no longer beneficial and opportunities that can make us start a new life.

Thirdly, love can heal the world by making people reconnect to their true purpose. The true purpose in life involves the establishment of what people enjoy doing while expressing talents. In other words, through the identified talents and unique gifts, people can establish various ways on how to help others. Arguably, as people identify their passions, they become more enthusiastic about sharing them. The shared passions help inspire others, drawing positive and loving individuals into the lives of those who share their passions. Such association creates a world full of peaceful cohesion, love, trust and care. Thus, connecting with real purpose revolves around individual love and the identification of passions and extends to love for other people by sharing the identified passions.

Also, love can heal people and the world when people nurture gratitude. Ego is one of the vices that can destroy the relationship between people. However, through love, people can learn to appreciate everything and everyone in their lives. As such, the ego is eliminated. When gratitude increases, the love in the heart also increases. People feel grounded in the present, and the abundance they experience each moment makes them full of love. Gratitude and appreciation also make people eliminate the feelings of either inferiority or superiority complexes. In other words, love shows people how to appreciate others and facilitate an understanding that people are all equal. People can spend quality time with loved ones and share the love they are rediscovering in themselves. Activities such as going on a picnic or hiking help people spend time together, thus building stronger bonds. Such activities can be enhanced internationally, allowing for interaction between different nations. As such, bonds are built both between individuals and nations, enhancing personal healing and healing of the world as a whole.

Is There Such a Thing As Too Much Love?

When holding a discussion with various people, different concerns were raised regarding whether there is such a thing as too much love. One of the contributors asserted that “ yes, there is too much love, and in most cases, it can be considered as obsessive love, which is not healthy .” In his argument, he argued that if you are so much in love with someone else, you may feel like you are obsessed with them, which can be unhealthy. Another contributor agreed that there is too much love and clarified that " too much love will kill you just as sure as none at all. " However, I may disapprove of these arguments by saying that there is nothing like too much love. In other words, love is necessary for growth and health; it is supportive and positive. The only factor that can determine the extent to which love becomes unhealthy is what people do when they love someone. It is possible to love wholly and deeply while having a healthy relationship and behavior.

Regarding obsessive love and the associated health effects, it can be true that when someone loves the other too much, they can become obsessed. However, love should be controlled such that the people in love can still do things apart. Allowing the feeling that people are so much in love to the extent they cannot do things apart is unhealthy. It is, therefore, necessary that when people are in love, they regulate the degree to which they focus their energy on their lover for the rest of their lives. The best way to achieve this is by finding other friends with similar interests that you can turn to outside your relationship confines. By implication, couples need to have some time apart to appreciate the times when they were together. As such, love does not become too much, as argued by the other discussion participants.

In another instance, a different contributor asserted that “ yes, there is such a thing as too much love because people become okay with everything their lovers do, when they are in love .” In support of this assertion, another contributor posed that “ too much love is there because tend to neglect themselves when they truly love someone .” While it is true that spending too much time loving someone may cause someone to neglect himself, still t is necessary to note that affection can be controlled. Arguably, life should not be fully focused on the same thing. It is vital to think about the other things that one was passionate about before meeting the lover. Some of the time should be spent outside the relationship to focus on other things that make one happy. By so doing, it does not mean that the worth of your lover is diminished. It does not imply that you are beginning to show less love, concern, care or affection. The time apart is only essential in allowing you to take a break from one another so that you enjoy your time together more completely when you eventually meet.

The other assertion that too much love is there because “ people tend to be okay with whatever their loved ones say or do ” is not comprehensive enough. In reality, unconditional love means that you can continue to love someone despite the flaws that you identify and acknowledge they have. In other words, no one is perfect. As such, we must talk to our partners regarding anything bothering us. By failing to confront problems that you face in your relationship, the other party in the relationship may feel that you will always be okay with whatever they do. Resultantly, they may see you as a walkover because they are certain you will forgive them for any transgression. It is vital to note that someone must not continually strive to earn your love, but they should make efforts into the relationship. The best love relationship is when parties communicate about the thing they are displeased about and in which the fear of losing someone does not keep parties from speaking their minds. Again, when such open communication is enhanced, then such thing as too much love ceases to be

Is There A Time And A Place In Love?

Here, a participant in the discussion argued that “we only fall in love with the right person, at the right time, after the right planning.” He explained that there is no way people can fall in love without first seeing the person they would like to be in love with, developing love desires, and eventually expressing the desires. Also, another participant supported this argument by saying that there is a time and a place in love because “falling in love requires mutual feeling and consent of both the parties, something that must be planned .” However, I disregard such arguments. There is never a place and a time in love. Love happens accidentally in the heart and in a single throbbing, flashing moment. Love is not something you plan for. It is something crazy, throbbing and incredible that no one can control.

Conclusion

In conclusion, love is a strong emotion that represents human kindness and shows compassion and deep affection. Love can heal both individuals and the world. Through practices such as self-forgiveness, positive self-talk, reconnection to self-purpose and nurturing of gratitude, people can enhance love for themselves and others, thus healing the world as a whole. There is no such thing as too much love. Also, there is never a place and a time in love. Love happens accidentally in the heart and a single throbbing, flashing moment.
