Michael Moore is the writer of the movie Bowling for Columbine . The film expressed how gun violence is rampant in the United States. It displays how U.S. residents can easily acquire firearms regardless of having a bad criminal record and indulging in drugs. Such a policy inflates the rate of violence in the U.S. Suppose an individual has ever faced a jail term and counseling for drug addiction; I feel the person should not be permitted to access firearms. However, that is not the case portrayed in the film as depicted by how Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris easily obtained guns regardless of their history of violence and drug dependency (Moore, 2017). This paper aims at establishing a summary of the film and stating my experience after watching the movie.
The movie is out to explore the conditions that triggered the massacre of Columbine High school in 1999. The documentary reveals to viewers and the US government that unlike in Canada, gun violence is rampant in the U.S due to the weak policies on firearm acquisition. For instance, once a resident of U.S opens a bank account, the client is issued with a gun (Moore, 2017). In other words, once a person has a bank account, it is mandatory for the individual to possess a firearm. I think such laws influence gun violence thus explaining the massive number of gun-related killings. After watching the film, however, I also think I like the part where Moore pleads with Kmart corporate staffs to quit selling ammunition to U.S residents. Notably, he reacts in a way I feel I would have, acknowledging the harmful consequences of possessing firearms and pleading against it. Still, I feel sad, noting that that the government is responsible for the high gun violence in the state. It would be expected that the state would endeavor to protect its citizens from such occurrences.

In conclusion, the movie Bowling for Columbine , by Moore is out to show the causes of the massacre that occurred in Columbine High School in 1991. The film proves that it is due to the weak policies of the government that people access firearms. I think that suppose an individual has a high history of violence; then the person should not be entitled to obtain guns. More importantly, thus, it is only the government that holds power to end the rampant gun-killings in the United States.
