The Millennium Hall presents a utopian world, where women strive for order and perfection. Therefore, the narrations provide a feminist perspective and sets one to imagine how the world would be if women were in charge of societal roles. The manner in which the narrations are organized is supposed to portray the contrast between the society dominated by men and the one dominated by women. Most of the women in charge of Millennium Hall found their way to the facility after being neglected by the male-dominated society. Some are widows and some are disabled, but have adapted a new life, where everything seems to be perfect.

Precisely, Millennium Hall symbolizes the power of women. Ellison’s chaise breaks down while travelling and that is how he comes across the community managed by women. Ellison, as presented in the first part of the narration is influenced by the existing stereotypes, and could not imagine that a facility run by women could be so perfect. The women take care of the disabled and deformed, as well as children of the poor. The place is also organized and neatly kept with flowers and gardens. The women wake up very early in the morning and nobody neglects their duties.

The feminist perspective being presented in the narration is that women want the world to be friendly; where people care for each other. Women want the world to be more orderly and that given a chance, women can restore sanity to the world. When Ellison is taken around the Millennium Hall, it is a tour or exhibition of the power and strength of women. Ellison was impressed, and perhaps his traditional views about women changed. Therefore, the Millennium Hall was written with the view of demonstrating how women can change the world if they are given equal chances with men.
