Does music contribute to learning? Music is a helpful tool in creating and accelerating consistent learning. A study shows that the grades and education of students enhanced by the use of background music in class. The purpose of music increases accuracy and improve problem-solving skills. However, irrelevant music can lead to poor student performance. A study found the use of music with lyrics on students had the best effect on their learning. The working memory processes auditive information first. Thus, learners working capacity will first prepare the auditive report before taking the learning task. In summary, Green, 2017 says that music has a positive and stimulating effect in learning by boosting the memory of the learner. Songs with lyrics are potentially more distracting than music without words which trigger emotions for education. Therefore, using instrumental melodies and music with other tempos will improve the memory of a learner. The writer therefore supports the use of music in learning as it increases accuracy and improve problem-solving skills

On the other hand, Lehmann & Seufert, 2017 argue that the use of music well-known to the learner produces the best results. However, some rhythms can have a negative impact on the learner, therefore, advisable that the learner chooses which music to listen to. Introducing music to kids at an early age helps develop their language and reasoning as well creativity. Music also helps student establish spatial knowledge which help them view the world accurately.
