I believe that the high value our culture has placed on tangible rewards is misguided. In most cases, TV, movies, and magazines try to exaggerate stories of the rich and famous. They present the lives of the rich and famous as happy, exciting, and fulfilling because of the riches they have. This has made individuals in our society work hard for bigger, brighter, faster, and better things in their lives ( Jäncke, 2012 ). Acquiring riches and popularity seems to be the goal of most people. In my opinion, it is significant to place more value on intangible things such as family, friends, and relationships because these things will ever remain while superficial things such as a nice house, the nice car will fade away. From my point of view, intangible rewards are more satisfying than tangible rewards because they are things that real happiness is made of and they cannot be taken by anyone from you.

I chose Two Feet’s “I Feel Like I’m Drowning” because it portrays the toxic and abusive relationship in which he feels as if he is drowning. In this song, Two Feet accuses his lover of being a poison in his life. I chose this song because it depicts some of encounters that are experienced in the current world. In most cases, partners or lovers do provide support and comfort during both hard times and good times but in the Two Feet song, this is different. He is not comfortable in the presence of his partner and this clearly reveals that his partner does not help him even in his lowest time. As Two feet puts, it is important to express our feelings in our relationship to avoid distraction by people we think we love that may deter us from achieving our goals.
