Finding sources in the analysis of various discussion topics is the most important part of analysis and research. Mainly, sources are meant to provide further information about what one is researching. Essentially, these sources are essential in gathering knowledge on the subject. In most cases, it helps to reflect on different authors and researchers' ethos and bring together various views. Significantly, most authors may disagree on the same subject, and their different perspectives are essential in building the argument.
Throughout the course, the method that I have been using to find sources is through filtering by searching for the keyword that describes the subject I’m interested in. for instance, when analyzing a child’s development, one may search for key words such as cognitive theories. This fact indicates that using a research guide on the WSU library cite has been an essential strategy as it helps to filter by a simple search for the words that represent the topic of discussion. However, I have not tried using another article cited page. This strategy would nevertheless help find the different ethos of different authors, making understanding more accessible.

Evaluating sources is not a difficult test, and hence I have been able to assess accurately and in a short time. Essentially, finding sources written by writers who were closers to the place of events and who have no biased view of the subject are easy ways to evaluate the aptness and credibility of the source, and this has helped to assess ethos as the persuasion by a writer who experiences events is more comfortable. Pieces of evidence have to be consistent and clear throughout the article, which indicates their effectiveness in explaining. The easiest way to see sources talking to each other is through holding similar conclusions, even though using different ethos.

The secondary resource process was more straightforward than that of primary sources as the idea was to find various claims about the topic of discussion, and there are a lot of articles that explain different points of view. The methods used in this case included using searching tools such as article review sites and scholarly articles online guides. Additionally, the use of lists of references from critical articles was helpful. The most productive method was using online searching tools as they bring filtered sources from different authors on the same subject.
The information arrangement includes first declaring my hypothesis, which is mostly informed by my perspective, which is subject to evaluation. Additionally, I placed the claims from different authors, followed by their evidence after my view, and ended with a new vocabulary based on the various sources and their analyses. The benefit of a visual synthesis map is that it helps in memorization and retrieval of information and that it makes multiple views easier to understand ( Graham, Liu, Bartlett, Ng, Harris, Aitken, & Talukdar, 2018 ). However, one of the challenges in evaluating and differentiating the variation in thoughts may lead to conflicting points of view.
The feedback on what peers understood about the research topic helped shape how to present the information. Essentially, their feedback was crucial in pointing out areas about the subject that was already clear to most and areas that needed in-depth elaboration. Hence more incorporation of pieces of evidence in some areas was determined by the views.
Significantly, the most challenging part was gathering information and specifically evaluating the appropriate sources. This fact is due to a vast pool of articles, some of whose credibility cannot be guaranteed. I overcame the challenge by using criteria such as chronological aspects of the piece and accuracy of evidence.

The research process involved the evaluation of different sources and opposing views. Hence, their research was based on various points of view on the subject of study. Essentially, there was a critical focus on the available evidence that ensured that the process was credible and without bias. Additionally, the process provided an exact representation of facts through the arrangement of information and various views and their critiques, making it easy to understand ( Graham, 2018 ). Based on these facts, the project deserves a grade A for its ability to create room for ensuring credibility and incorporating various views to avoid bias, which in most cases affects the accuracy of studies.
Further, various leads were involved in the research process. However, I did not follow all the leads due to multiple reasons. The lack of enough time to follow all leads is one of the limitations encountered. On the other hand, articles older than ten years were, in my view, inaccurate due to various changes that have occurred over time, making them less credible in analyzing the current issues concerning the subject, mainly due to constant changes in the field of research due to entry of modern ways of research. Based on these facts, some lead6s failed to meet the criteria and hence were abandoned. Additionally, as a result of pressure from work, only easily available leads could be followed, indicating the reason for the vast reliance on online scholar reviewed articles.
Essentially, I learned all the crucial facts on creating knowledge, which was the topic of discussion. These facts include methods of gathering evidence and the use of evidence in research. These methods have slight variations according to the discipline concerned. For instance, sociological and physical science evidence vary both in methods of collection and application.
Reflection 6
There are various steps and learning elements in the process of writing a significant literature review. For example, it is essential to a theoretical framework that forms the background of the argument. There is also a need to illustrate a clear understanding of concepts like using hedges to indicate the willingness to commit to the claim. Essentially another element is to show the history of discussion and the controversies surrounding the topic ( Graham et al. 2018 ). It is also essential to analyze views from others, as seen through the analysis of a freeman's opinions. There is a need to clarify and define terminologies such as hedges while creating a space for more research on the discussion.
One of the rhetorical choices was the ethos through the inclusion of sources to indicate and convince the readers of the information's credibility. Additionally, logos were utilized through the presentation of numerical data. The use of sentences that appeal to the reader's emotions indicates the use of pathos in the paper ( Graham, 2018 ). Practically, the peers' feedback pointed to a lack of clarity due to the use of little statistical data. This information was helpful as it prompted the addition of more data to enable the review to convince the reader due to the existence of evidence.

My discourse community involves literature students, and rules of language and writing guide the group. Crafting claims about the group based on genres requires that one understand the various devices used and their meaning. One of the genres used in this case includes chalk and chalk drawings. Particularly, to understand the community's claims that involve the use of this genre, one must appreciate devices such as symbolism ( Odell, Goswami, Herrington & Quick, 2019 ). Symbolism expresses the message of the members without explaining through the use of words. Additionally, there is a need for creativity, especially when analyzing extracts from literary materials.
Good evidence in the literature community includes direct quotations from the texts from which a writer derives information. These direct quotes indicate the details that are important to the topic of discussion. Additionally, good evidence includes information from ancient materials such as writings from the renaissance period, which helps to compare various points of discussion.
The most secret organization in the community is poetry, which is due to their freedom to go around the English language rules. For instance, poets may present information in a few lines without completely being bound by grammar and sentence structure rules. Essentially, there is a need to create a rapport with the audience through the use of devices such as humor in writing or narration. The rhetor needs to incorporate evidence from various credible sources to convince the audience ( Graham, 2018 ). However, the rhetor may use only one rhetorical choice, such as pathos, to convince the audience. On the other hand, the message needs the use of devices such as irony and sarcasm to reinforce. The use of imagery, for instance, helps to bring out the message while introducing the audience to the rhetor world.

The fifth reading on research paper writing suggests an exact way to communicate to the audience. Essentially, the first step is to choose a general area of research that is of interest to oneself. The information being researched must be addressed to a specific audience, which points to the audience's need to understand the information just as the writer must understand it ( Odell et al., 2019 ). This reading talks to other readings, including the journal on paraphrasing, which emphasizes that one must understand the sources' information. From the readings, there is a need to read and restate information to enhance understanding. An important aspect that cuts across the readings is the need to make research and understanding information procedural. For instance, systematic visual mapping ensures that memorization becomes easier for efficient retrieval. The readings describe the process of writing a research paper and literature review, which involves the use claim, pieces of evidence, and opposing views to form an informed conclusion. It is essential to note the use of hedges, as seen in the sixth reading, to soften the claim and make it more open to evaluation.
The most important lesson from the week’s readings is that a writer needs to apply rhetorical choices to create credibility. Essentially, these choices include pathos, ethos, and logos, which are significant in reinforcing ideas. Additionally, the discourse has different ways of displaying messages and communicating, which is enhanced by genres.
