Hello, I liked your post since it was elaborate and full of insight. You go to great lengths to explain the relationship between motivation and learning. In particular, it is interesting how articulate that ego, desire, and expectation motivate a person to learn. There is no doubt that these three factors lead to self-determination, which is vital for a person to engage in the process of learning. a person who is self-determined has certain goals that he/she wants to achieve. The desire and urge these goals oblige a person to engage in the person to learn. From the viewpoint of the theory you explain, self-discipline is important for the process of learning to occur. Self-determination and self-discipline are two relatable concepts since they stem from the inner desire to achieve something meaningful. In turn, these concepts explain why a person will be keen on learning. Overall, your post was interesting and gave me a fresh perspective on motivation and learning.
Response to Belinda,
Hi, your post was great because it was concise and straight to the point. You take an interesting approach that gave me new insights into motivation and learning. Throughout your post, you focus on how behavior plays a key role in enabling a person to learn. I agree with you since behavior reflects a person’s attitude towards something. On that note, if a person has a positive attitude towards learning, then it follows that he/she will showcase behavior that is suited to the learning process. Based on this inference, motivation and learning are intangible concepts that cannot be seen but are connected in an implicit way. The implicit connection is a person’s behavior (attitude) towards learning. A positive behavior leads to the urge to achieve certain goals. It gives a person the inspiration to tackle something new and engage in the process of learning at the same time.
