Policy Process in Public Health

The objective of the module is to acquaint learners with knowledge regarding the policy process. I believe that policies are significant in any profession or occupation. I have learned the policy process from the conceptualization, development, adoption, and evaluation. In this case, I have been equipped with essential concepts. Also, the module provides actionable points to a learner. Therefore, the knowledge acquired from the module is applicable at both personal and professional levels. 

Part A 

The policy process has equipped me with critical concepts. I find the concept of policy enactment as significant in the process of formalizing policies. I have witnessed employees and professionals opposed to policies because they lack formality. Enacting policies enhances compliance from the professionals. Moreover, the concept of stakeholder engagement and education is central in the policy process. Thus, I find it very useful to engage people affected by the policies; the public, partners, and decision-makers. In my view, this involvement will reduce resistance towards the implementation of the policies. 

Part B 

Policy analysis is the most actionable perspective of the module. The concept involves critical thinking in the assessment of the available policy options. I have learned the skill of critical analysis for the prioritization of alternatives. Developing an efficient, effective, and feasible policy option requires qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the option. I highly recommend the application of science and evidence-based analysis to provide viable alternatives. 

Part C 

The skills and knowledge acquired in the module are applicable in personal and professional life. I learned critical analysis in finding the best option during policy analysis. I will apply the skill in identifying solutions to individual challenges. Additionally, I learned the essence of evaluation after policy implementation in the assessment of outcomes. I will apply the concept of evaluation in the measurement of my professional performance. I will also measure the results against the projected goals. Remarkably, the concepts and skills learned are vital for personal and professional development. 

Conclusion
