Settling in as a primary caregiving father has difficulties that are associated with raising the young children. The caregiving fathers go through difficult moments with their children whom they raise without the help of the child's mother. The psychological impact of primary caregiving fathers is also affected by the roles and responsibilities that they play in the society. These fathers are forced to spend more time in activities that are done by the women. The fathers take their children out to play in the parks where the majority of the population comprise of women. Stay at home dads are also judged by the society for not participating in the building and development of the economy. The economy can however not only be build through an income-earning job. The roles and responsibilities played by the primary caregiving fathers are also essential in the development of a nation. Most of the primary caregiving fathers also have careers which they practiced before they decided to become full-time primary caregiving fathers. The primary reason why individuals decide to become stay at home fathers is the adoption of children into their families. Every family needs to have children irrespective of the type of relationship the parents have. Children are essential in every family because they bring joy and happiness to the family. Children also carry the name of their parents and thus the legacy of the family. Primary caregiving fathers are always forced to put aside their careers to take care of the children and provide them with the basic human needs as they grow and develop. Many people in the society view these fathers as being poor decision makers by adopting a child when they are already old. Peer support is essential because it enables the parents to raise their children with a positive attitude. Lack Of support demoralizes the parents and makes them uncomfortable in forums that are dominated by the women. The women dominated platforms are very important for these fathers because it teaches them the best approaches to parenting that would lead to the growth and development of morally upright children in the society. The best approach to solving the concerns that are faced by the primary caregiving fathers is the establishment of peer support groups for these fathers. The peer support groups for father should also have the same attributes as those groups for the women. The groups should talk about the real issues that fathers are faced with while raising their children. According to statistics, stay at home fathers are few in the society compared to the stay at home mothers. Most women in the society look after their children which is a normal attribute in the society. The reasons why stay at home fathers are rare in the society is because of the history and the gender roles in the society. Fathers were considered as the head of the family and their role was to provide for the family and thus the few numbers of stay at home fathers within our community.
