At the beginning of the essay, we can picture Beth Anderson’s state as she sat on the kitchen table after stating “brain dead.” Also, Anderson shrieked out loud to show excitement after opening the envelope given to her by the mother. She tells us the magnitude of her shriek by employing the word “enough” in the sentence. As Anderson was telling us more of their relationship, she described how they had duets after belting while in the car to compare the type of songs they both liked.
As they were going to the concert, Anderson complained about staying in the traffic jam for hours as she saw lines outside the Open-air Venue. Beth talks of seeing the sunset as she described the sky being hazy. She used the word ‘roughly’ to describe the ratio of adult to teenagers to children as she was accounting for the crowd. As the Smashing Pumpkins were doing their presentation, Anderson stated that her Mom was not “really a fan” to describe her attitude. She named the Smashing Pumpkins presentation as “perfect” when her mom tapped her left foot.

As the rolling stone band stepped into the stage, she described the scenery happenings chronologically. She used the word ‘abuzz’ to describe the reaction of the crowd. She also explained all the clothes every band member wore. She described the whole performance and crowd reaction like swaying and raising index fingers and jumping in unison.
The essay is effective as it introduces us to how the idea of going to the concert came about to actual attendance. It also has a flow of ideas from the beginning to the end. In most parts of the essay, Anderson does great in simultaneously describing her situation and incorporating them with actions. If I were to write the article, I would divide ideas in portion to help the readers know what is going on through reading the subheadings. And I would group all the vocabularies alphabetically in an appendix section.
