The paper presents an analysis of the video about a shemagh. A shemagh is a pice of cloth that is normally to cover the mouth, nose, and the head in the Middle East. The shemagh has many names in the region but the purpose is similar regardless of the name. The information presented in the audio visual source is meant for people who are interested in learning how to wear a shemagh, a multipurpose scarf common in Afghanistan. The information in the video presentation is very important. However, many people may not have enough time to watch the whole video. As such, I decided to summarize the procedure of wearing a shemagh in a Word document. This is because a Word document is easy to peruse and pick the important information within a very short time. Essentially, this particular project has enabled me to learn how to analyze a rhetorical situation, as how to find and evaluate information.
I have learnt about the various steps followed in wearing a shemagh. Basically, a typical shemagh measures 42 inch by 42 inch. The first step in wearing a shemagh is folding the square into a triangle. Next, one is required to grab the two corners and hold them out in front of their face. It is important to ensure that the triangle’s point is facing down. The third step involves pulling the corners up and behind the head. The fourth step is crossing the pieces and pulling tight. The fifth step involves taking the loose corners and crossing them in front of the face. This is followed by tying the loose corners as one would shoes and repeat the process to make the knot firm. Finally, the top of the triangle is then pulled out slightly from the pieces that have just been tied. Essentially, the triangle piece is used to cover the mouth and nose.
