The importance of research and the role it plays in our daily lives has been captured in several scripture verses. These verses simply reiterates what we read daily about how significance research is in several aspects. One of these scriptures is Proverbs 19:2. The scripture says “desire without knowledge is not good, how much more hasty feet will miss the way”. The scripture is very categorical with the claim that our desires are not effective enough when we don’t have adequate knowledge. It is only through knowledge that we can pursue our desires. I think this relates to the topic of research in that through research we are able to increase the depth of our knowledge. We obtain a lot of information through investigation. It is the information that we obtain through research that is helpful when pursuing our life desire. With the information our desires have no basis.
The second scripture that is also related to the topic of research is Proverbs 17:24. The scripture says “a discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the world”. This scripture in my view focuses on the role of research in making rational judgment and having a wider perspective of viewing things. People tend to make judgments without a clear view of the relevant information at their proposal. Research in this case increases the level of knowledge or wisdom one has on a particular subject. It is therefore easy to make good decision and judgments when we lay our basis on a detailed research information. The scripture uses research to differentiate someone with a good judgment who keep in mind the role of information and another one who does as referred to as a fool. It is another scripture that emphasizes on investigation and research in all walks of life.
