Listed sponsors

Neither of the websites have provided extensive lists of sponsors affiliated with the organization. For Medical News Today, it is evident that Healthline Media UK Ltd is the source of all financial backing to ensure operations are possible. Live Science on the other hand, depends on itself to effectively publish authentic information on the wide range of topics of focus. As a result, the information in both websites is not biased as it is run by various editors depending on topic before being published.

Scientists, researchers, or government agencies

The Medical New Today website provides Debra Rose Wilson as an editor to the information provided. She is a graduate from Walden University and teaches psychology and nursing courses while she also has expertise in breastfeeding and obstetrics (Barrell, 2019). The World Health organization is also provided as a source of data. The article by Lallanilla (2016) has multiple sources of information including the National Library of Medicine, US Department of Agriculture, WHO, Center for Food Safety, Institute for Responsible Technology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Non-GMO Project among other national organizations.

Information Bias

The writers of the websites evidently provided information that was in line with the topic provided. When discussing pros and cons of GMOs, Barrell (2019) provides a brief description of the topic before diving into the issues at hand. Information provided does not favor any information over others. In the case of Lallanilla (2016) it is evident that a similar practice is employed with information from opposing sides even provided without bias.

Information Truth

Both web pages provide information that is currently within the current research articles on the facts about GMOs. However, there is information that may be controversial whereby both articles state that the GMOs are safe for consumption. It is evident there are some risks involved with the use of the foods despite the fact that they could be in very low capacity.

Reliability of Source

Medical News Today and LiveScience are both reliable sources of information on the issue of GMOs. The two web pages have conducted extensive research with the use of credible researchers in associated fields to arrive at the information presented (Barrell, 2019). The ability of the authors to divulge into information presented by other credible sources including WHO and National Library of Medicine is an indicator that the information does hold reliable truth.

Tips and Techniques to search the Web for more information about GMO/GEO foods

If an individual would like to research further on information about GMO/GEOs, it would be particularly important to focus on published journals. The Google Scholar search could help narrow down information to the latest findings.
