School forms the foundation for our future, as a young student, I have always dreamt of running the biggest company in the world. I have always worked hard in my studies and passed all my grade tests. However, I have always felt less satisfied with what I have achieved. For a long time, I had searched for my calling only to find it inside a tiny book that I recently read. The book titled “why an A student works for a C student” by Robert Koyasaki advises parents not to be obsessed with grades, but look for students' abilities. This book changed my perspective of life. My parents have always wanted me to get a well-paying job and a respectable career; they always wanted me to be a doctor like my father. I have never had the urge of working in a hospital setting. My dream has always been to have a fulfilling career that gives me the freedom to think and put into action my thought to change how things are done.
After watching Lisa Bu discussing her childhood dreams and ambitions, I feel I am on the right path. As Lisa describes, books as a magic portal that connects people to the past and the present, I have come to experience this recently. After turning to books to find my passion in life, I have come to learn that many people struggle to find their path in life. Famous people are driven by passion to achieve the most out of life. The story behind J.K. Rowling’s success is the best inspirational book I have recently read. Rowling lost his job and turned all her efforts on writing. She lived in poverty but has the passion, which pulled her out of poverty, this turned out to be the right choice.

Reading stories behind successful people has enabled me to connect with people and understand their worldview. I have also come to realize that reading is a fulfilling process because it does not necessarily mean that everyone will eventually be successful when they follow their passion. However, through reading, I have come to learn new ways of doing things. Life is not about achieving our dreams, but the fact that you know what you want and attempting to achieve it is enough to say that you are on the right path. For example, when reading books about other people, I learn about their struggles and review how passion is the only driving force that keeps them going. The fact that books are based on real-life experiences, books have immense lessons and offers insights into people's lives. Books are like a portal because they contain knowledge that is yet to be uncovered. The video by Lisa Bu is a reminder that books play a central role in our lives. Through reading, I can analyze a situation because I have adequate understanding. I know what decision to make and what I want to achieve in life. I also get to learn my past and incorporate some of the past lessons into my present to live a happier life. As Lisa says, the most important purpose of reading books is to achieve happiness and satisfaction in life. I believe that each book I read allows me to learn something new.
