Connection between dance pattern and Music Form

The dance pattern is significantly connected to the music form. THE music is made up of four different variations of a single theme, and the pattern is repeated once for every single theme. The end of the pattern and its subsequent beginning denotes the end of one theme in the songs form and the beginning of the subsequent theme.

Similarities in style of dance and style of music

There is similarity between the style of the dance and the style of the music. Both the dance and the music are developed in a pattern format. The dance repeats 5 different steps in the same dance pattern, which is then repeated over and over in multiple variations along with the song’s melody. The song on the other hand contains 4 variations of the same theme which are repeated one after another successively throughout the music’s composition. The dance pattern is repeated for every individual song them making the end of a dance pattern a transition to the different song themes.

Responses

Response to Khaimova

Throughout the 6 distinctive beats, the dance takes up a pattern of five-leg movements including two right leg and two left leg movements and a jump to reset the pattern. The mood is indeed happy and light as illustrated by the dance that is both jumpy and coordinated among two smiling and enjoying dancers. The music and the dance are similar in the sense that the music pattern, as well as the dancing pattern, follows four short notes and a long transitioning note. The dancers interchange their right and left legs twice apiece making up four movements and a long jump for the transitioning fifth note of the music. The similarity of the patterns also indicates a similarity in style between the music and dance.

Response to Gonzalez

Along the 6 distinctive beats/notes of the music, the dancers take up a dancing pattern with 5 distinct steps. Each of the left and right legs of the dancers moves twice forward and backward before a christening fifth step of the dance which is an elongated jump to synchronize to the music's final note. The music and dance look bubbly and jumpy indicating a happy theme. The synchronization between the music and the patterned dancing movement exhibits the connection between the dance and music as well as the similarity in the styles of the dance and the music. Despite being repetitive in terms of the distinct movements made by the dancers, I do not think the dance is boring given the wide range of body and positional movements as well as the alternating dance options between the male and female dancers. These changes add to the diversity of the dance, making it quite enjoyable.
